There is something very good about the rigour of a routine- it isn;t necessarily found through apid work though and I would suggest the majority of JK's victims would better start with a basic education and a decent rehab program- both of which rely on government expenditure and some element of benefits for a while.

Lovely thread. Yes only middle class people with lots of cash and who make wise decisions should be allowed to breed. Because you are so pleasant op. Lets have lots of little yous running around instead. I'm not advocating fecklessness but it's not like the rest of us behave either is it really? It's not like middle class people don't commit adultery, have different kids with diffent dads or make mistakes because ultimately this is a class issue.

Why do you really care about their private lives. I suppose the benefits thing is irksome but there needs to be more done to make them work. Many middle class people also don't work as they have rich husbands. I don't watch Jeremy Kyle as I consider myself to be far superior to such trashy programmes.

SEA - hi! :) You made some good points (about the actual topic of the thread, I mean). And I freely admit that Trillian had the name first, but it does rather appear that she is using it maliciously. If she had been around posting things like this when I chose my name I would of course have picked something unmistakeably different, but it's too late now.

I disagree with the very beginning of that Guardian article, calling JK "an anglicised version of Jerry Springer". Jerry Springer himself is very calm, he doesn't shout abuse at his "guests".

Jerry Springer doesn't get in the faces of his 'guests', not like Kyle does. I'm amazed that no-one has punched him out before now.

Don't usually watch 'cos I hate the whole bear-baiting vibe, but if the "guests / cannon-fodder " were allowed to lamp the scumbag leading the wind-up I'd definitely tune in!

I too am amazed that there has yet to be a much publicised murder following an appearance on the show.

The way he publically humiliates and goads men who have openly admitted extreme violence towards their partners is disgusting and incredibly dangerous.

He may feel big and tough when he is in a studio surrounded by camera's, 100 audience members and half a dozen very big security guards, bt that woman has to go home and face the consequences of his anger.

The man really does have no fucking idea of the harm he can do with his show.

How how is this tv show allowed to continue following those stories? Why are these stories not front page news?

I have a plan.

My plan is to go on the Jezzer Kyle show. I will pretend that I am from the "wrong side of the tracks" and that I have been mainlining skag bought with money that I stole from my grandma. I will don a shellsuit, for authenticity. Maybe even a couple of sovereign rings. I will go on the stage. I will taunt Jezza and poke at him about his gambling/cokehead ways until he goes for me. THEN, my shellsuit-clad arse will arise from the chair. I will stalk towards him and the I will PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE.

I'm pretty handy so he should, with any luck, get sent flying backwards into his knuckledragging audience.
