to be pig sick of finding cat poo in my garden?

I clear 3 - 4 lots out every day in my borders on my garden and have tried dozens of different cat repelant stuff but it doesn't stop them, It's doing my head in, each time I pick it up and dig over the soil I come home from work to see it dug over and pooed in again. Bloody cats!

They're attracted to certain smells to do their business on.

Hope someone can advise you on something else that may work!

This has already been done this week, as has dog poo and dogs in public. Try hamsters instead, there haven't any anti hamster threads for a while.

Unfortunately they can still smell their toilet each time!

I know this is going to sound weird but when we had cats pooing someone suggested burying plastic bottles in the garden. I thought it was a joke but, coincidentally or not, it worked! Apparently they don't like the feel of them underfoot. Worth a go?

I am getting that pissed off with it feel like shooting the little shits! they never crap in their own gardens do they, do their owners think there is a fricking cat crap fairy that comes and takes the turds away?
Will try the bottle - anything is worth a go!

next door have got 4 cats, i must be the only person in the world that reads about those horrific poisoning attacks on cats, and think well that 8 less of the buggers!!

Ok - try this - it worked quite well for me

You know those green stick things that you can buy at the garden centre/poundland etc? Supposed to be used for training plants. Well - get a load of those - snap them in half and stick them, evenly spaced, in the earth. They're not too noticeable and they stop the cat being able to lower it's stinky shitting arse onto your borders. Worth a try.

Lavender is said to keep cats away. Also rue and pennyroyal, but I don't know if these are toxic to children.

They do poo in their own garden! At least mine do. I love them but hate when they do this. They do, however, only seem to use the areas where there are bedding plants but not the shrubby areas. You could try planting more shrubs and herbaceous borders or heathers etc.

Little tip from a cat owner ..... buy a cheap grobag.... pop it somewhere you cant see it .... and cats will beeline for that. They like peat.

my cats crap in my own arden, they di a whole, crap then cover it up, you wouldnt even notice it...

do other cats just leave it there or somethin?

He'll go next door to poo and the neighbours' cats will no longer come into your garden.

We had this problem with next doors cat.

Our solution was to make friends with the cat, call it over to be stroked and fussed over and give it little treats of bits of chicken (with my neighbours permission) The cat now thinks we are his 2nd home and has stopped pooing in our flowerbeds, probably goes next door but one!

On Gardeners' Question time today they recommended horticultural fleece, cats don't like texture under their paws, or thorny twigs stuck into ground close together.
I feel your pain, don't mind cats, but there is one down my road that ALWAYS shits in my front garden. I have (ahem) asked it to move on many a time, but no, it likes my garden too much.

I've always found the best way to keep cats out of the garden is get a dog! Once they've been chased out once they don't come back lol. If you don't want to go that drastic you could always borrow a friends dog during the day for a couple of days.

I do think cat owners need to take responsibilty for their pets, if I don't pick up Sammy's mess I get fined £1000. If you don't want a litter tray in your house it's not very fair to expect your neighbours to put up with it in their gardens

digging over the soil will actually encourage them to come back as cats love nothing more than freshly dug over soil, domestic black pepper (not super strength or chilli powder) sprinkled on the soil and lemon or orange peel spread around or jif lemon juice sprinkled on the soil, will deter them from going to the area, as someone else said short sticks stuck in the ground at close to each other ranges will sop them from walking across the ground and settling all of these are much better than shooting them or harming them as some idiot suggested, and yes i have six cats (who use the litter trays indoors before anyone has a go)

OP if it is only in the one place then cover where they have been pooing with a box or something similar.

Lion poo was also suggested on the other thread.

And Nicky, you make think cat owners have a responsibility for their cats poo but they don't. Letting their cats roam free is perfectly legal.

isn't animal shit a parenting issue? I caught a cat shitting in DS's digger spot today. As DS's diggers are out there busy all day every day at the moment it's not only freshly dug (cat heaven), but not suitable for sharp sticks. Do I not have to be worried about toxoplasmosis then, Nullius?

Were getting supershooters for DS's birthday. And a pack of sharp sticks for the lettuce bed.

Spinkle Chilli powder on the gras and soil. It doesn't harm them at all and they don't like the smell of it.
