I clear 3 - 4 lots out every day in my borders on my garden and have tried dozens of different cat repelant stuff but it doesn't stop them, It's doing my head in, each time I pick it up and dig over the soil I come home from work to see it dug over and pooed in again. Bloody cats!

NO! You dont have to be worried about fucking toxoplasmosis!

This is the excuse trotted out on everyone of those threads.

Dont roll around in shit and wash your hands.

You should be more worried about viruses from humans, do you let your child go to school? Do you suggest that we throw chilli at / ban / spray water on / poisen all sick people?? NO?!

Why not? they are a much bigger risk to you PFB.

Sorry, have just had enough of cat shit threads and animal bashing Angry

Nullius · 05/06/2011 22:17

And on another note, what do all you toxoplasmosis fearers think owners of cats do?

You know, the ones that keep their pets indoors (like you say they should every day on here) and so own a littler tray ??

You know those things you have in the house, and the cats shits in it?

Why arent they all dead yet Hmm

Lorenz · 05/06/2011 22:17

They're only doing what comes natural to them.

Get a greyhound and let it do what comes natural to greyhounds.

lovemyangels · 05/06/2011 22:51

Oh dear me, mental note I must check and search through every post on MN to find out if other people have posted first before I dare to post whats on my mind!!!!!
I do have a dog she stays in the back garden so no cat shit there, its on the front where its an open area so my dog doesn't go on it.
If every post on this web site had to be soley to do with being a parent there wouldnt be hardly any threads and I am fully aware that their are more serious viruses out there which are more worrying for our children, than any picked up from animal shit.
I don't have a problem with cats I am just fed up of them ruining my garden, I am pretty sure if my dog crapped on someones lawn I would be responsible for picking it up!

Ban the cats. Ban the dogs. Ban everything. T'is the only way. Ban people who whinge too.

Nullius · 05/06/2011 23:13

Yes Hi zukie

Different day, same shit! (cat shit, that is)

While I do understand that OP didnt need to search all posts, im amazed you could be on here for more than five minutes and not see the countless animal shit threads.

It really is very tedious. And my last two posts were more in respone to the "hhmmm, oh, so we shouldnt be worried about toxoplasmosis, hmm nullius?" In which I could literally hear the patronising tone through the computer. Cats are not dangerous.

issey6cats · 05/06/2011 23:47

and A1980 chilli powder is toxic to cats it can kill them so thats why i reccomended ORDINARY BLACK PEPPeR instead, cats dont like pepper works just as well and is cheap if you buy the basic supermarket stuff

StrawberryMewMew · 06/06/2011 07:18

Has everyone just went cat shit mad this week?

There must be at least 3 or 4 threads.

Getting fairly annoyed with it now, all you people who think it's okay to potentially harm cats because they are doing something that btw is not illegal!

Bet all you people who are pissed off at cats are dog owners, how would you like it if all us cat owners put harmful products down for your dogs?

You would be going crazy, but no one seems to think that scaring or harming a cat is bad!

Why is this!?

zukiecat Thanks, I have a cat like yours, he is huge but the most timid creature ever. So much that if he is near and you move a foot he jumps and runs frightened.

When I read these threads, I think of him... Looking all sweet and being so friendly and I think about how so many people wouldn't mind hurting or scaring him because they are so offended by a bit of poo!

He doesn't get out as we are currently living in a flat and the reason he is so timid is because, 1. I got him from a rescue as a kitten. His owner had loads of cats and loads of litters and was feeding him spagetti and milk at just weeks old. 2. He fell out of our 4th floor window, broke his leg and had to be sedated every week to get casts changed and such.

All you people don't think about how it is a living being you want to harm or scare, and think about that for a second how would you feel if someone was trying to scare you or your child. Cats don't understand English and they can't tell anyone when they are scared or in pain.
They don't understand what they are doing is wrong, because although you 'own' the land, that is only applicable to people. They don't understand the concept of owning anything. Although some of us may think it, we humans do not own the world, we are simply dominating inhabitants, it belongs as much to them than as to us.

You people are inhumane.

MrsBethel · 06/06/2011 15:02

Would you be happy for me to take a shit in the middle of your lawn? Oh and I wouldn't tell you when, so that way your kids might pick it up?

StrawberryMewMew · 06/06/2011 15:04

But you're a person and know better.

Also it would be illegal for you to do that.

It isn't for a cat!

There's plenty of other more important things in the world to worry about than cat shit.

MrsBethel · 06/06/2011 15:15

So the only reason you wouldn't want me to shit in your garden is because it's ilegal and I should know better? So supposing the the law were changed, and I had a lobotomy, you wouldn't even mention it should I come round your garden each night and leave a present?

No. The reason you wouldn't want me to shit in your garden is because it would be disgusting. Who wants to find that waiting for them where the kids play?

Oh, and "There's plenty of other more important things in the world to worry about than cat shit" she says on a thread about cat shit...

I always think as well, how many of these animals homes must we have wrecked when we decided we would build houses there. And suddenly we think all the land is ours.

Bethel If you had a lobotomy and shat in my garden every night, I would think it was because you didn't know better. I would most definitely not try and poison on harm you!

Zukie I have 3 cats exactly like yours! A timid boy, a girl who wants petted all the bloody time and another boy who's a menace!

I say about the being more to worry about while I am on a cat shit thread because I can't get away from these stupid threads! I am not going to hide them because it is condoning abuse to animals and I am firmly against that.

GreenEyesandHam · 06/06/2011 15:52

I gave the cayenne pepper thing a go the other day, haven't found any cat poo so far

StrawberryMewMew · 06/06/2011 15:54

That's because the poor cat is probably clawing it's eyes out (which does happen btw).

GreenEyesandHam · 06/06/2011 15:58

No it's fine, I've seen it

MrsBethel · 06/06/2011 16:21

I'd get a water pistol, but I don't want toy guns in the house.

A bit of water won't hurt 'em. I mean, it even rains sometimes! They're not made of icing sugar.

GreenEyesandHam · 06/06/2011 16:32

Oh I'd do the water pistol thing, only we work full time. I've a suspicion the cat won't helpfully wait until we are actually at home before it does it's business. Grin

Suncottage · 06/06/2011 16:47

I agree that finding poo in your garden is not pleasant - My neighbour's dog poos in my front garden.

But in future I am going to hide any thread within this topic. It has been done over and over again and I find it worrying how many people advocate violence, pain and cruelty to any animal.

If a dog/cat shits in your garden why not just Google it to find the solution.

rosie39forever · 06/06/2011 17:13

Ok cat owners how can i stop the army of cats in my street from crapping in my garden, i have tried all the non harmful things all the powders and liquids which are supposed to put them off and nothing has worked, every morning at least 6 steaming piles and they don't even bother to cover it up. I am seriously considering slabbing the whole bloody garden as the prospect of my autistic daughter going out and picking up cat crap and putting it in her mouth is causing me to loose it!!

kill them, kill them all is what i sayAngry

Nullius · 06/06/2011 17:17

Voices of reason! at last.

Yes, there really are more important things to worry about, and as ive said on another thread before, some of the tragic posters on here sat in their windows, with the binoculars out keeping spreadsheets of what cat does its business where, really, get a fucking life!!

The cat does not know its your garden, to the cat, everywhere is outside. It isnt doing it to piss you off.

And on another note, to all you cat-hurters out there, just be warned you might live next to me, or others like me, who will do time for their cat. If you hurt my animals i'd be round your house in a shot and i'd make your life a fucking misery, believe me.
