Why is everyone so mean on mumsnet?

New poster - been lurking for a few weeks. What I've noticed is that everyone is so mean. Parents/women/people come here for advice and they are torn to pieces or spelling critisied.

I feel that you all can be a little bit nicer to each other. People sometimes post to get a different opinion, but we can be nice about how we say things!

Anyway, thanks for listening - i bet someone will say something mean!

RockStock mine is in the freezer as I forgot to fridge it. Hence panic/freezer/wine combo. Not cool. Pun intended Grin

Bloody Hell Pinot, I wondered there for a moment if you'd put a kitten in the freezer.
What a lovely thread, it's making me feel all warm and fluffy.

I wanted blood, dagnamit.

BornInAfrica · 04/06/2011 18:54

I will admit to a little bloodlust myself but first one has to have a sparring partner of equal or greater - what's the word I'm looking for here? - I think it might be something like spunk, but not!

Fowl - you aren't alone....

Anyone in the know, feel free PM me.

FowlLanguage · 04/06/2011 19:08

You're right Beer.
I remember starting a thread while feeling really low about myself and the sheer amount of posters that came on and said such lovely things was astounding and it wasnt just "aww hun i'm sure you're really lovely" It was genuine, heartfelt comments.
That's what you get from mumsnet. genuine comments. Whether they are nasty or nice that's what you get. You have to take the rough with the smooth.

Primalscream · 04/06/2011 19:13

Yes - people on here are more genuine not less -
In RL you tend to tell people what you think they want to hear - on an anonymous forum you tell the truth.
