To feel sorry for Cheryl Cole?

I know, I know, show business is brutal, I should get a life.

I just feel for her, it must be so horrible despite the truck loads of cash.

I can't believe anyone ever thought she'd translate to over there, she seems so untransportable.

I like her, but don't feel sorry for her. She's a fighter and will bounce back.
Or retire comfortably.

I have no sympathy for her. Plus she shouldn't have been there in the first place as she has a criminal conviction.

Yeah I feel sorry for her and some of the vitriolic rants on here about her make me quite sad really.

It would be different if they were made by talented young women who had made it as far as Cheryl...but seemingly they're not Grin

I have never understood what qualifies her to be a judge in the first place, apart from the rumours about the 'fluffiness' of her relationship with Mr Syco himself

manicbmc -I too brought up the criminal conviction thing on another thread.

Amy Winehouse wasn't allowed a working permit to play gigs in the states so how come Cheryl Cole was going to be allowed to work there Hmm Confused

(or was there a cock-up that was only just spotted hence the sudden 'sacking')

YANBU, it can't be nice to be so publicly sacked but I am a bit meh about it all, just another day in the Syco publicity machine. Cheryl and Dannii should both have realised that their time was limited, but for some reason Louis Walsh seems indestructible, he must have some dirt on Simon.

Am glad she is not going to the US, something very dislikeable about her, so comes across as sickly sweet.

YABU - I have nothing against her, but there are far worthier causes to 'feel sorry for' IMO! She's loaded!

Cowell is a publicity genius isn't he? Everything is fodder for the machine.
But it must be hard not to have your head turned by it.
I'd forgotten about the punching thing, although it's hard to know the truth of those sorts of incidents where people are smashed. Not an excuse though.
There's just something so misogynistic the way women are used I agree.
Message has to be, put the money away while you can honey!

Whether she is talented or not, is a matter of personal opinion though manic and her success would suggest a lot of opinions are that she is.

Here's what Google says.....

Any previous criminal convictions have to be declared on visa application forms. So to get permission to work in the States she will have to own up to the Guildford incident. And if the US authorities decide the conviction was serious enough, she would have to apply for a waive.

Also she is auto-tuned to within an inch of her life. Even my singing is better than hers Hmm and she is a very mediocre dancer. I see no talent - just good marketing.

Croissant I don't know about Amy Winehouse but Cheryl Cole was found guilty of racial assault on a toilet attendant over a row about paying for lollipops. She was found guiltly, but still maintains the woman hit her first and she acted in self defence. She also strongly denies using racist language.

I've always been open minded about it. I would love to have been a fly on the wall as I'm sure many would.

Bottom line is they couldn't understand her accent / dialect and she refused elocution lessons (allegedly).
So if the audience has no idea what she is saying, then it's over for her.

YANBU I feel really sorry for her.

I think the criminal conviction thingy might be to do with it being in the past whereas Amy Winehouse's drug problems were still quite current. Russell Brand's got criminal convictions I think and he's been allowed to work in America so there must be some process to waive it.
