You would think so, but i didn't at 16! I didn't really understand what you used a toilet brush for until I was in my 20's!

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 28/05/2011 13:11

Depends. Not everyone has them (we don't). Mine do know how to clean the loo though. Although you wouldn't know it sometimes.

cjbartlett · 28/05/2011 13:13

Well not everyone has one.
Apparently.

I recently stayed in a hotel where the toilet brush was stood in disinfectant.
My 15 year old recently had flu together with ahem.. a very upset tummy.
Toilet needed cleaning every 5 minutes. I had the bright idea to do the disinfectant in the toilet brush holder thing. Unfortunately I forgot to tell DS So when he went to use it he tipped it all over the floor.

onlion · 28/05/2011 13:25

How do you clean the loo without one for those who dont use them?

shinyshoes · 28/05/2011 13:28

Sometimes my DC get shit down the inside of the bowl.

How do you get rid of that with no brush Confused

onlion · 28/05/2011 13:29

Thats what i would like to know

worraliberty · 28/05/2011 13:30

What about skiddies? How do you get rid of them with no brush?

inchoccyheaven · 28/05/2011 13:30

I pour bleach around the bowl and leave. I never scrub the toilet and it always cleans up any marks to leave it looking clean.
I use wipes to clean toilet seat, lid etc.

onlion · 28/05/2011 13:32

I dont check the toilet after the kids have used it, so by the time I do, bleach wouldnt quite do it iykwim
I would hate the idea of poo on the bowl just bleaching away

issynoko · 28/05/2011 13:32

Gloves and and elbow grease. Hate toilet brushes. Or sometimes no gloves, paper and then clinical hand scrubbing. It's a dirty job but beats the middle ages!

CroissantNeuf · 28/05/2011 13:33

Just because a 16 yr old knows how to use one doesn't mean that they'll actually use it.

The same goes for 16 yr olds and a vacuum cleaner, duster, washing-up brush, mop and bucket.......

onlion · 28/05/2011 13:34

Bare hand gloves or a cloth? What do you use to scrub?

Im dont fancy scrubbing a nearly 17 year old's poo away with bare hands and a cloth but would like to ditch the brush

OP posts:
MumblingRagDoll · 28/05/2011 13:39

Bleugh at toilet brushes!

You only need to wipe it with some tissue...for stubborn skiddies, you may need to pour bleach on and leave...there is no need for a shit-riddled bog brush in ANY home.

MumblingRagDoll · 28/05/2011 13:40

Why would you scrub a toilet? If it's disenfected and wiped daily, then there's no need to scrub OP.

As for the 16 year old....get them by the ear and watch as they clean....I wouldn't wipe it up personally.

onlion · 28/05/2011 13:41

Sorry to be technical but my boys leave large blobs that would sit all day with bleach on them. At least a bog brush can clean it off immediately.

onlion · 28/05/2011 13:42

What do you clean the inside of the bowl with ragdoll?

OP posts:
onlion · 28/05/2011 13:43

By the way, our water leaves lime scale marks so we need to brush daily anyway

OP posts:
Meglet · 28/05/2011 13:44

yabu. I have never used a toilet brush they are foul.

Bleach it, then gloves and loo roll if its really bad.

onlion · 28/05/2011 13:46

Im amazed some people dont scrub their toilets? I seriously have to daily, properly srcub. Sometimes poo, sometimes they dont flush. Limescale.

I use Toilet Duck Fresh Brush.

It a disposable pad that you clip on to the end of a stick thing.
