Sounds very cruel but after months (have just returned to work from maternity) of reading trashy magazines in which she attacks anyone who goes to work/ bottlefeeds/ is a new mum but looks 100 times better than her and then shows off about how much sex she has with her husband (yeah, thanks for sharing) as if she is the authority on motherhood for us all, that her relationship may have so mething to do with her issues with everyone else and need to constantly show off? I feel for her horrible experience but she has made herself seem hideously smug and hypocritical over the last year- ugh rant over.

I hadn't realised that she had actually been attacked by him. I haven't read the papers, I only saw a brief bit on the internet news on my homepage and it said he smashed up the house and left, but it didn't say he had beaten her

OP I'm trying to see what you say you meant in your first post. Were you meaning that often people who present their own lives as perfect while being critical of other people are sometimes doing so to hide the fact that they have real issues and problems (such as DV)?

If so then yes, I think that can be true.

I watched an ep of her ghastly E4 show and I thought her bloke a bit weird. A bit mentally lacking, if I'm honest.

I feel devastated for her. It should be the happiest time of her life and now it's all ruined. And not only is it ruined, but she can't even grieve for her lost relationship in private. Poor girl and poor child.

I think she comes across as a very ordinary young lady who has been pitched into a culture where being beautiful and sexy and perfect is all.

She has tried over and over to squeeze herself into this 'ideal' and she simply is not equipped.

She isnt pretty. She isnt sexy. She is ordinary. I would think that this sort of lifestyle is incredibly stressful even if you were some stunning telly blonde, let alone a girl who is a bit of a frump.

I think that is why she has overcompensated with all this Hello/Ok type of talk. She is trying to prove to herself that her life is perfect and she is some sort of Victoria Beckham character.
