Sounds very cruel but after months (have just returned to work from maternity) of reading trashy magazines in which she attacks anyone who goes to work/ bottlefeeds/ is a new mum but looks 100 times better than her and then shows off about how much sex she has with her husband (yeah, thanks for sharing) as if she is the authority on motherhood for us all, that her relationship may have so mething to do with her issues with everyone else and need to constantly show off? I feel for her horrible experience but she has made herself seem hideously smug and hypocritical over the last year- ugh rant over.

OP - you are suffering from celebrity-itis. This is when a person feels harassed, mentally assaulted, even stalked by someone who is given pages and pages in the media, but not actually known to the sufferer.

the result can be a feeling that this person has an impact on your life, and that stuff that happens to them actually matters, in some way, to the individual.

In this particular situation I think there has been a tragic outcome - you have been forced to come out with some rather misogynistic views. That's a shame, but it probably springs from the fact that you have (slightly incorrectly) felt that this woman has been intruding into your life.

The treatment is to avoid reading celebrity crap. This has two beneficial results: Firstly, it will be very beneficial for your mental health. Secondly, if there is a mass movement to take this action, the media that feeds on this shit will notice a decline in circulation, and switch content. Ultimately, the "Public Stalking Celebrities" themselves will wither, and perhaps disappear.

Domestic violence, it goes without saying, is shit.

Fab: don't worry it was IprivateI, who seems to be some sort of mega-twat. Do not give his posts a second thought.

Oh, and, once again, spot on Animula.

(Should really put that in my autotext thingy).

What a truly disgusting thread you started tl10

Mamaz0n · 28/05/2011 17:29

"Seriously, some of you must be on here 24-7- get out and enjoy life, spend time with your lovely kids and stop taking your issues out on people you don't know and will never meet but do something productive with them in real life instead if horrible things like DV really anger you."

what a disgusting attitude. I do hope you went through with your threat to leave the site.

AitchTwoOh · 28/05/2011 18:49

i hope you don't, OP.

i have always thought that the way a thread goes is broadly determined by the first few responses, and i do think that's what happened here.

scottishmummy · 28/05/2011 22:02

i mn a lot but dont malign a lassie battered by her man

Enoon · 07/06/2011 14:44

OP, your thread is utterly disgusting. You do realise she is a real person, with a real baby, even though she is in the magazines?
