Honeydragon · 27/05/2011 12:41

Bohica · 27/05/2011 12:43

Honeydragon · 27/05/2011 12:45

Bohica · 27/05/2011 12:50

No honey not ALL of them!

I'm up to date with most of them but I was off line yesterday & need want to read the thread with the wanker outing Mrs.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 27/05/2011 12:53

that is too funny. they left the post but took out the 'you are all cunts' line.

I really have to get on with my housework now. This is doing my head in Grin

Bohica · 27/05/2011 12:55

I'm feeling all insecure & left out.

What fucking thread are you all reading!!!!!

Honeydragon · 27/05/2011 13:07

I think they've been edited. Last night mad chillie woman kept posting on old threads and bumping them if they mentioned mn. Other posters were telling her to stop. That woman is like a dog with a bone. I can't find the c unts one anymore Sad

Bohica · 27/05/2011 13:13

She really does have some strange ishoos.

Very entertaining though Grin

Who outed Mrs then? Thats bad form, I bet it was that Jane, Julie whoever that outed lotm on Monday

nickelbabe · 27/05/2011 13:20

i can't find the thread at all!
has it been deleted?

when I followed the link, it just kept saying "not logged in" even though I am Blush

(disclaimer: i'm only on NM to take the piss out of them, and to illegally solicit business...)

giveitago · 27/05/2011 13:20

Hum - netmums and mumsnet girlies get behind the bikeshed for a big old fight.

What's the difference between them?

Bohica · 27/05/2011 13:24

One lot are fucking idiots & the other lot arn't.

cannydoit · 27/05/2011 13:29

ok i am finally curious enough and am going to check out netmum to see why you all hate it so, cant we just live in peace people?

nickelbabe · 27/05/2011 13:29

"LadyOfTheCuntryManor Fri 27-May-11 12:15:48

Apostrophes only go the end of a word ending in "s" if it's belonging to them;

James' ball. The ball belongs to James. You wouldn't write:

James's ball. Because that is what American and Netmums do.

Mum's cup of coffee. The cup of coffee belongs to Mum.

Mumsnetters' are.... the are does not belong to the Mumsnetters, even if we are a plural."

LOTM - you are wrong - the s' on James is wrong.
James's is correct - it looks a lot neaters, and you know it's one boy called James not lots of boys called Jame...
You don't use the second s on words that have s in the middle already, so
Moses'
Jesus'

nickelbabe · 27/05/2011 13:30

canny - because it's like the forum equivalent of Football - I hate Forest for no other reason than they're not Notts County, see?
Grin

giveitago · 27/05/2011 13:36

The only difference I really see is the the use of jargon and the english language. But is the substance any different?

LadyOfTheCuntryManor · 27/05/2011 13:37

"LOTM - you are wrong - the s' on James is wrong."

It isn't wrong, it is perfectly acceptable in the English language. You will find it is mainly Americans who use James's or Jesus's. Just look at the US version of Bridget Jones' Diary.

Bridget Jones's Diary Hmm

nickelbabe · 27/05/2011 13:41

it shoudl be Bridget Jones's Diary.
it looks messy without the 's

I know you're not wrong, technically, it's just wrong to my brain.

If i have a son, he will be called James, and I will curse anyone who put James' insted of James's.
Wink

janelikesjam · 27/05/2011 13:48

I posted something on Mumsnet a couple of years ago and the breathtaking nastiness and attack by a bunch of mothers on myself and my child was absolutely horrible - I myself would never have stood by and let people do that to another person but they were given free reign and seemed to have no self-control or awareness as to what they were doing, and even seemed to enjoy it, it really was a bit sick.

It wasn't just a couple of criticisms or pithy or humerous comments - it was a lynch mob of forum "mates", including the "moderator" was was particularly nasty as I remember. I was kinda traumatised by it at the time.

So, I think Netmums may have a point. I rarely post now here. But occasionally I look as I enjoy the more independent-minded posts and ideas.

leftblank · 27/05/2011 13:51

What was it you posted about?

nickelbabe · 27/05/2011 13:51

yeah, but jane - it really does depend what you posted about!

take Emmz's thread on customer service - here
they were merciless to her, but she has been really cool about it.

I've posted AIBUs where I've been totally unreasonable and had my head ripped off!
but htat's a good thing.

It would be awful if we all went "its yr bubs hun, do wht u like"

  1. because textspeak is hideous, but mainly
  2. because we're all adults and we should be able to be told we're being unreasonable or princessy if we are being. there's nothing wrong with that, and normally, we're all good friends at the end of it. :)
nickelbabe · 27/05/2011 13:52

(and your grammar usually gets picked up on too: it's Me, not myself in your first sentence Wink)

nickelbabe · 27/05/2011 13:53

oh, also, if it gets personal, you can have the post deleted.
