Well am I.

If HE or any of his legal advisors are reading this - pass on a message.

"If you'd kept schtum it would all be blowing well over by now, instead you've reignited it and people will be discussing it for longer. Go out - buy your wife a massive "sorry I was a prat" present and move on with your life".

Oh and employ someone with some common sense to ADVISE you in future - not some rich lawyers who will now be richer as a result of this fruitless action.

Amy dying to see if Twitter deliver up what's demanded in the 7 days they have. Suspect their lawyers might be saying "this is America, they are in the UK - tell em to go take a hike".

he is a 24 carrat tool.

piprabbit · 21/05/2011 14:14

Totally agree.

He has gone from being an adulterer (which would probably go down quite well with the sort of men he usually mixes with and wouldn't even have been noticed by the vast majority of people), to being a complete laughing stock to the entire country.

BimboNo5 · 21/05/2011 14:14

Doesnt he realise it makes it more obvious who he is? People on twitter are saying 'xxxxx shagged Imogen Thomas' him suing them for allowing it just makes it crystal clear it indeed was him. Pair of skank hos need to keep their pants on

ShellyBoobs · 21/05/2011 14:18

I still don't understand exactly what's happened.

The girl involved seems to be shown coming in and out of court, on the news. What's that all about? Is she wanting to have some 'kiss and tell' story published, which is being blocked?

Sorry for what's probably a daft question, but I totally ignore any sort of 'celebrity news' as it really gets my goat.

Oh and YANBU, OP. Anyone who tried to use the courts to cover up the fact they've been a cheating tool isn't worthy of sympathy.

NoraBone · 21/05/2011 14:19

his POOR POOR POOR WIFE

WhoAteMySnickers · 21/05/2011 14:19

If the premiership footballer wins his case, do you think he'll run round the court bare chested swinging his shirt? You know like Ryan Giggs did in that cup semi in '99?

BimboNo5 · 21/05/2011 14:20

LMFAO whoate

piprabbit · 21/05/2011 14:22

I think that the girl involved is subject to a super-injunction which means that she can't even discuss the events in her personal life with her own mother.
And she is being sued by the Tool, not sure why - presumably because the water is getting too hot for him now and he feels it is her fault (shame he didn't think about it before wiggling his willy).

AuraofDora · 21/05/2011 14:24

he does seem ill advised
though he will be making someone his advisors very rich

sharbie · 21/05/2011 14:26

sharbie · 21/05/2011 14:27

oh forget it Smile

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 21/05/2011 14:33

What present would you suggest to compensate a wife for being married to a millionaire who's arrogant enough to squander joint assets/his dc's inheritance attempting to cover up the fact that he's a cheating scumbag Dilly?

TheCrackFox · 21/05/2011 14:40

He is acting like a complete tool.

SockShitter · 21/05/2011 14:43

Does a UK super injunctino hold up outside the UK? I don't get how it could? Does anyone know the legality of it?

ceebeegeebies · 21/05/2011 14:44

I totally agree OP - I said exactly the same thing to Dh this morning. If he had just let the story come out at the time, everyone would have shrugged and not been in the least bit interested surprised and carried on with life....instead he has now managed to blow it completely out of proportion whilst making him and his wife a laughing stock (and yes, his lawyers very rich)

Whoate Grin but be careful - another thread was deleted last night about this Wink

Eglu · 21/05/2011 14:46

He is making his name go round more and more I agree. It also makes him so much more of a dick in everyones eyes.

I just saw an article saying that thousands are naming him on twitter now. What a complete idiot.

meditrina · 21/05/2011 14:46

Yes it does apply outside UK, but it is very difficult to enforce, and any enforcement can be a lengthy and expensive business.

This action against Twitter is interesting, because if they are compelled to hand over users' identities, then those individuals can be individually prosecuted for contempt of court. Any in UK could find themselves in trouble quickly.

DillyDaydreaming · 21/05/2011 14:48

Not sure there IS a big enough gift to be honest izzy Grin - AND he's compounded it now by taking the action he has.

Am lol at whoate

BBC article here.

From that article:

"Lawyers at Schillings, who represent CTB, have issued a statement clarifying the action it has taken. It said it was not suing Twitter but had made an application "to obtain limited information concerning the unlawful use of Twitter by a small number of individuals who may have breached a court order".

"He said the privacy injunction preventing CTB's identity being revealed had been challenged on the grounds that it was already in the public domain because it was already available on the internet. Mr Hewlett said "arguing that it's in the public domain because it's already on Twitter" would "put you in a very serious position in terms of contempt of court" if it transpired that "you had anything to do with putting it on Twitter".

"Twitter has been resisting attempts by the US government to subpoena information on a number of users in relation to the Wikileaks affair. Media lawyer Nick Lockett said the legal action against Twitter may not have much effect. "What will have to be established is that Twitter was subject to the jurisdiction of the court," he said. While UK courts claim worldwide jurisdiction this has often proved hard to enforce."

piprabbit · 21/05/2011 14:55

I'd love to hear some ideas as to why CTB was picked to hide his identity. What could it possibly stand for?
