drive round with a dashboard crammed with cuddly creatures?

wear a disney top if you ate a grown-up?

have a wacky ringtone on your phone? Spiderpig anyone?

actually say the words "I'm crazy I am."?

think lol is fecking punctuation?

[grrr]

And don't even go there about typos in the title - I meant to type prillock - it's a portmanteau, I'll have you know.

I'm quite old (33) and have a boyfriend because he's much younger than me I don't know what else to call him!

EmmaBemma · 18/05/2011 10:05

There's nothing wrong with "boyfriend". I'm married, but if I wasn't married to my husband I think I'd call him my boyfriend and I'm the same age as you, Toby. "Partner" is so self-consciously right-on.

People who say "hubby", on the other hand...

BelieveInPink · 18/05/2011 10:05

"I walked past a smart car today with fake eyelashes over the headlights.

I kid you not"

Pure class.

The next person to call me "hun" is going to feel my wrath.

OTheHugeManatee · 18/05/2011 11:16

oldraver DP used to manage a pub - he told me that brewery owned pubs have warehouses full of Pub Tat (horse brasses, nasty wickerwork objects, creepy instruments of torture farming implements etc) that new publicans go to and pick out the tat they want to adorn their pub with.

Perhaps there's a warehouse somewhere with a whole room of dusty pub teddies with sinister eyes Grin

On the subject of prillocks though, can I please add anyone who has one of the new VW Beetles and actually has plastic flowers in the built in dashboard flower vase .

TobyLerone · 18/05/2011 11:23

Every new Beetle I've ever seen has had a plastic gerbera in the vase. Every single one.

I saw another last night when I collected DD from school. A mum and daughter who wear matching clothes. If they can't get the same, she dresses in a skirt and top of the same shade. Mum has even bought herself one of the school sweatshirts.

HerHissyness · 18/05/2011 11:46

They come with the car Toby. You get to choose which colour silk flower.

HerHissyness · 18/05/2011 11:47

Mum has even bought herself one of the school sweatshirts.

OMFG! Grin

DuelingFanjo · 18/05/2011 11:47

lol

HerHissyness · 18/05/2011 11:48

I love this thread. I feel at home! Grin

HaughtyChuckle · 18/05/2011 11:48

wait I'm not meant to eat grown ups?

Suncottage · 18/05/2011 11:54

Paul McCartney speaking gets me everytime. I can't listen to what he says because I am too busy counting everytime he says "Y'know"

Bloody hippy.

KatieWatie · 18/05/2011 11:54

I like lol but I only use it in an 'ironic' way, honest.

I remember an old Victoria Wood sketch (or possibly French & Saunders) where a nearly grown-up girl was being interviewed on her bed. It was absolutely crammed with cuddly toys which she had names for, and she said she'd never had a boyfriend. It was sweet and tragic at the same time. When I see dashboards crammed with toys I think the driver must live a similar life :(

Similarly adults in offices who pile their desks high with cuddly toys and hang bunnies in hammocks from their corkboards etc. :(

nickelbabe · 18/05/2011 11:57

I wear quite a few cartoon tops.
I find it helpful in my line of work.

I've got a peppa pig one, a moomins one, a Button Moon one, and a monster munch one.

lighten up, lovey.

(see, this is why you shouldn't have reneged on the Meet-up - you need a drink! Grin )

love and [wunk]s

nickelbabe · 18/05/2011 12:02

my ring tone says "answer the phone" in an annoyed tone.
and my text alert says "you've got a text message!"

both wouldn't be quite so sad if they weren't DH saying them.
I got excited when I got my phone to find that it hada voice recorder and that you could put that to a phone call.
The annoyed tone on the ring tone is not for my benefit, but because I made DH record it a few times becuase he kept getting it wrong Blush

AppleyEverAfter · 18/05/2011 12:03

I have a cuddly toy in the back of my car. BUT it converts into a travel pillow thanks to a clever velcro fastening...

gets coat

Alwaysworthchecking · 18/05/2011 12:15

I must show this thread to dh, so he can see that I'm not abnormal for being deeply suspicious of adults in Disney clothing. In fact, OP,I agreee with everything except the cannibalism. I also salute the person who objected to endless fluffy toys for one bunch of keys - that bugs me beyond belief. If you rolled most of this thread's complaints together, you would have somene of my acquaintance who annoys the heck out of me.

OTheHugeManatee · 18/05/2011 12:57

I have a travel pillow with a panda's head on one end and a panda's tail on the other: a U Shaped Travel Sausage Panda. I am so ashamed of it that I keep it in my wardrobe wrapped in several layers of plastic bag, but I still need it for long-haul flights Blush

AppleyEverAfter · 18/05/2011 13:24

Manatee mine's a tiger. I think I might chuck it in the loft after reading this thread!

FleeBee · 18/05/2011 13:54

Can I just add here how I want to punch my MIL when she says "bockle" not "bottle" aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhh

AppleyEverAfter · 18/05/2011 13:59

FleeBee my SIL hates this about my mum, she's passed on 'bockle' and 'keckle' to my nephew and it really winds SIL up!

squeakyjimbob · 18/05/2011 14:01

apparently you can wear Disney if you work in the day centre up the road. I see a lot of happy campers round there and i'm never sure who's the looked after-er and who's the looked after-ee. (I'm allowed to say this as I used to work in social care sector)

OTheHugeManatee · 18/05/2011 14:36

Appley Shall we start a support group for people with uncontrollable U Shaped Cuddly Travel Sausage Animal habits? Grin

Suncottage · 18/05/2011 15:08

I have met several Winnie The Pooh freaks collectors over the years with their toys and pictures and slippers etc etc

Not one of them had read the books though Hmm
