It was my aunts funeral today.

The road where she lived with her DH has limited parking and as there is a school, office buildings and a supermarket, parking is chaotic to say the least.

As we had 5 cars we got the council to suspend parking, we were advised by neighbours to have this from 6 this morning up until 12 noon, this was to stop the office workers parking in the street and the early morning shoppers, we didnt need the spaces after 12 as people were going straight to a hotel for the wake.

We did have problems with people ignoring the signs and trying to park but my two nephews, my BIL and my DH were on sentry duty.

Five minutes before the hearse and cars were due to arrive we heard shouting outside, we kept my Mum (Aunts Sister) and my Aunts DH away from the window and I went outside to see what was happening.

Some selfish nasty COW had tried to park in one of the spaces, she was screaming and shouting that she was only going to be 5 minutes, whilst she was blocking the road and shouting the hearse and cars turned up.

The funeral director tried to reason with her, she then got out of her car walked to the side of the hearse, she had an opened can of coke which she THREW at the hearse, it bounced of the glass side spraying coke all over the glass and dripping down the side.

Then she got back into her car drove of down the road stopped, and blasted rap music at full volume.

The FD was totally shocked and reasoned with her again then threatened to call the police, and after a lot of swearing, the F,C and W words were used
drove of still with music blaring.

We have just got back from the police station, my BIL had taped the whole thing on his phone and we have her car number, and the FD will give a statement.

Hit her, I wanted to rip the face off her escpoecially after the funeral when I was told Aunts DH and my MUM were crying their hearyts out as they could hear the music and the swearing.

Sorry for the Long post

Seriously shocking, what a bitch.

I once saw a man in a car trying to push his way into traffic, which wouldn't have mattered if he wasn't trying to push his way into the middle of a funeral procession. I thought that was bad!

LordofthePies · 05/05/2011 12:36

Totally agree with AccioPinotGrigio. Selfish, aggressive behaviour which seems unfortunately to be increasing.

I am shocked by the total lack of any respect shown to you and your grieving family.

I hope whatever you decide to do, you get some comfort from the support on this thread.

sawnkymare · 05/05/2011 17:23

Talk about deja vu..... This was on another site well over a year ago

Islandlady · 05/05/2011 18:53

Hi sawnymare, this happened to me and my family this week, but my Sister mentioned another incident in London (I think) that she heard about it on another forum maybe last year.

anyhow update, Police have been to the address where the car no is registered and there is no sign of her.

They will keep trying

Glad to hear they will try again, Island. Someone with such poor self-control and aggression is not fit to be out in public.

ajandjjmum · 05/05/2011 19:31

So sorry you had to deal with this at such a sad time.

It makes us all think about our responses when we come across a funeral procession, and hopefully show respect. When my Dad crossed a local golf course, the people playing stopped, took off their hats and bowed their heads. Such a small thing, but meant so much.

Hope the police deal with this, and that you are left to focus on your good memories.

brighthair · 05/05/2011 21:58

that's awful, echo above sorry that you had to deal with that

I have been out horseriding a few times when a procession comes past and (this may be OTT I know) I always stop the horse, bow head, and salute arm down by side

thederkinsdame · 05/05/2011 22:29

I am gobsmacked. Just when you think people can't get any shittier, along comes a moron to prove you wrong. What a dreadful, unnecessary thing for your family to put up with on such a tough day.

I agree that public shame is the way forward, like the woman who put the cat in the bin. Sadly, it's likely that the police will give her a slap on the wrists and IMO she deserves to be publicly humiliated for being so disrespectful.

minouminou · 06/05/2011 14:30

That is absolutely foul. So sorry you had to see this.

Pixieonthemoor · 06/05/2011 14:40

Honestly words just fail me. Vile, despicable, disgusting - doesnt really cover it, does it? I wish with all my heart that the police could come down on her hard and make her see what a vile excuse for a human being she is but sadly there is no law against being a total bitch. I hope they do all they can and you can glean a tiny bit of satisfaction from that. I am sorry for your loss and even more sorry that you had to put up with this sort of thing on such a sad day.

florencedougal · 06/05/2011 14:41

yes i remember this story on another forum a year or so ago, even down to the throwing of the coke can :(

must be quite a common occurrance

TheRhubarb · 06/05/2011 14:43

perhaps it was a Pepsi can this time round?

scattermummy · 07/05/2011 17:58

How about putting it on you tube. To shame the cow

magicmelons · 07/05/2011 18:02

I am truly Shock. Some people are just vile. Sorry you had to deal with this.

Salmotrutta · 07/05/2011 18:17

perhaps it was a Pepsi can this time round? ............ Hmm

Was that meant to be humorous?

Because it wasn't - at all.

Andrewofgg · 07/05/2011 18:42

Male speaking. The only really vicious woman-and-woman fight I have ever seen (fists, feet, nails, teeth, the whole works) was not over a man but over a parking place at Brent Cross - so while I am disgusted I am not surprised.

Bloodymary · 08/05/2011 10:16

Andrewofgg did you intervene and help those ladies out Grin
