To be shocked at how many mners seem to condone smacking

I am not talking about people who have smacked in anger and post saying "oh no, I lost it and smacked my DC" - everyone makes mistakes and no-one is perfect! I am talking about those who use smacking as a considered, pre meditated form of punishment/discipline. I know this was discussed a lot on another thread a few days ago, and I was pretty much told "each to their own" - but I am genuinely surprised that it seems to be a popular method here?

I would love to be called a twunt but am off to bed now....night y'all!! Smile

Mamaz0n · 03/05/2011 23:35

but then it'd get even more weird and confusing than when Osama was arguing with me that violence is wrong.

which was super funny but damn confusing.

I believe Gema admitted to using violence on her kids in the past. What is wrong with my post?

AnneWiddecombesBoulderHolder · 03/05/2011 23:36

I missed the sex with your Dad comments but Glitter from what ive seen you and Osama's posts are far from innocent.

I think you will find I defended Gemsy when she was being bullied and abused, when she began to spout father fucking things I did ask her to stop, but hey feel free to ignore this like every other comment that doesn't support your cause.

AnneWiddecombesBoulderHolder · 03/05/2011 23:39

So is everyone going to conveniently ignore vile comments from someone who uis anti smacking but jump on anything from people who are pro smacking?

osamabinladensmrs · 03/05/2011 23:39

AnneWiddecombesBoulderHolder

Smacking = Violence. End of.

Mamaz0n · 03/05/2011 23:40

kerry - sadly the tide has turned and the "pro smackers" are actually in the majority on this thread Sad

glitterballmama · 03/05/2011 23:40

Sorry sickof, I'm not taking what I said back. You compared hitting your kids to getting them vaccinated, for their own good. That is creepy and horrible.

So to tell someone whose actions you believe to be abusive,is to have the argument turned around on me to make me the abusive one?

Does that mean that everyone who calls an abusive person abusive is abusive themselves?

Right.

At least I had some grounding for my 'accusations'. But the fact you are defending Gemsy's mad rantings and the fact she accused me of incest confirms my suspicions. Creepy.

osamabinladensmrs · 03/05/2011 23:41

Fair enough.

I feel Gemsy ignored many of my thoughtful, insightful, educated, articulate comments because they didn't support her arguments, but hey, I don't care....Grin

I like you too, osama, you are hilarious.

Jaqueline dear, I think you'll find I've responded to pretty much every pathetic argument on here that's been dredged up in support of hitting kids!

AnneWiddecombesBoulderHolder · 03/05/2011 23:43

Ive never smacked any of my three kids. Whether its because im lucky they are placid and well behaved I dont know. Yet some of the comments to other mothers on here make me feel ashamed. Calling people evil, abusers, that they get a thrill out of abusing their kids. We are all mothers, parenting in a way that works for our children. Who is anyone to attack that as long as we are acting within the law?

sickoftheholidays · 03/05/2011 23:45

Glitterball - please read my post, I have said that Gemsy was BANG OUT OF ORDER.
I also said that you were far from blameless. Whatever your justification, you have been downright offensive to me in a number of posts, I dont much care what you think of me, but I think that calling someone a child abuser on the basis of one post is pretty damn strong, and if I could actually be arsed trawling through 26 pages, I would find the posts and report them.

AnneWiddecombesBoulderHolder · 03/05/2011 23:45

I feel I am wasting my time offering an opinion on here though unless I get my pitchfork out and scowl at those who do believe in a smack being a valid form of discipline. Ho hum.

Mamaz0n · 03/05/2011 23:45

ann - Osama was arguing with me earlier. I still welomed her contribution.
nothing to do with backing my cause. I was happy to converse with Gemsy, despite her aggressive rantings. But she obviously took things too far in my absence. If Osama is correct in her assumption that she has been banned then i think that says a lot.

Jaquelinehyde · 03/05/2011 23:46

Anne I agree with you 100% about the vile, abusive comments that have come from Osama. This has been pointed out several times just to be ignored to the anti-smackers.
