Seriously, what are they trying to achieve? It smacks of a cheap publicity stunt to show how considerate they are of the poor people (us) and in (fake) compassion not to make use of their impressive resources and have a holiday in private on someone's yacht?
Seriously!

Sorry, should be Camerons....

UrsulaBuffay · 09/04/2011 19:34

It made me laugh...they look fooking miserable.

dontcallmepeanut · 09/04/2011 19:35

No, it should be CaMorons...
But hey, let them take their holiday wherever.

juneau · 09/04/2011 19:37

I agree - it seems ridiculous to me. Everyone knows they've got money and if they want to spend it taking a short break, they should. Flying Ryanair and staying in a budget hotel makes them look like idiots. I mean, who the f*ck flies Ryanair when they don't have to?!!!

laInfanta · 09/04/2011 19:37

Haha yes, a 'we're down with the Plebs' holiday

Idiots. As if we don't know they're worth 30m pounds.

Honeybee79 · 09/04/2011 19:47

Yanbu. Grates with me too.

mumcanIaskaquestion · 09/04/2011 19:53

YANBU.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was fake and probably a publicity stunt

Gooseberrybushes · 09/04/2011 19:55

You just don't like them -- whatever they did would be wrong. Silly thing to moan about.

fivegomadinthelambingshed · 09/04/2011 19:56

And if they had gone on a no expense spared holiday you would have been bitching about that aswell, best if they stay at home and don't do anything then isn't it.

MrsLukeDanes · 09/04/2011 19:58

Link? (Ands agree with Fivegomad)

farmazon · 09/04/2011 19:58

Agreed. Absolutely pathetic and missed attempt at playing "we are all in this together"...

BlueAmy · 09/04/2011 20:01

I did laugh. It's like they really do think people will buy this shit.

SardineQueen · 09/04/2011 20:08

Hahahhahahaha brilliant.

Ryanair. Loving it Grin

sharbie · 09/04/2011 20:12

blimey even i wouldn't go to that cafe they visited.

mumcanIaskaquestion · 09/04/2011 20:12

fivegomadinthelambingshed,

No I wouldn't bitch about them going on an no expenses spared holiday as they can afford to do that.

It's the pretense (sp) of flying ryan air and the cheap bar that I find false.

MrsLukeDanes · 09/04/2011 20:17

But if RyanAir are flying to the destination they are going to, at the time they want to fly, why NOT fly with them? Surely that is just choosing to spend the pennies wisely? It is often said that the rich stay rich for reasons such as this. Why not be careful with your money? When is that quality one to be ridiculed?

mdavza · 09/04/2011 20:37

I hear what you say, mrsluke, but in general people do better to do things they way they do it, and not pretend to do it otherwise for some PR reason.

For example, I will have less of a problem with them having a luxurious holiday somewhere because who in their right mind would not use their money or contacts to do likewise? It just feels so pretentious, iykwim.

OP posts:
SardineQueen · 09/04/2011 20:47

Most multimillionaires don't travel ryanair Grin

They should have got the train (first class) to somewhere nice in the UK. That would have hit the right note. I can see how they wanted to avoid the whole private jet to the caribbean type scenario but ryanair to spain? Come off it Grin

laInfanta · 09/04/2011 20:50

I really wouldn't care if they spent a million pounds on a holiday. It's their money, they can do exactly as they like

And I refuse to believe that anyone would voluntarily choose to fly with Ryanair, ahem.

SardineQueen · 09/04/2011 20:52

Not that there's anything wrong with Spain, of course. But you know what I mean Grin

Itsjustafleshwound · 09/04/2011 20:54

But didn't the press roundly turn on the Blairs' when they used their contacts to get 'freebie' holidays ???

theyoungvisiter · 09/04/2011 20:54

[snort] at them flying ryanair - as if their security people would EVER allow that. Can you imagine if some drunkard got up and started haranguing the PM mid-flight?

The only way they flew ryanair is if they booked out the whole flight and it was basically a private jet. Which is not impossible and probably still a budget option compared to flying first class Grin

Abr1de · 09/04/2011 20:54

They can't win, really. Whatever they had chosen to do would have annoyed someone.
