she claims what ever you are allowed for having two dc,no husband,no earnings. She has her mortgage paid too (interest only by gov).
She is working for an accident claims company cash in hand £70 a day and more money if the public that she names has a successful claim.
She works 5 days a week. It's not guarenteed work but she's been doing for a few months now!
She's got loads of money&me&my dh can hardly afford to pay the mortgage let alone book a holiday as she did today to Spain!
If I'm honest I'm jealous. I have no treats. My dh gets up every day at 5/6 a.m& works so hard. We have no luxuries. Sad

If I could be arsed I'd probably argue with GORGEOUSX about how much more it'll cost her (as a taxpayer) when beesimos acquaintance gets sent to prison for shoplifting food for her children. Children in care are lots more expensive than those whose parents struggle on benefits and do a bit of Avon to buy them christmas and birthday presents.

But I cant be arsed, I've been arguing with middle class muppets who have no clue about the real world, all week at uni and I've had enough for now. My energy levels will only go so far as to say that the phrase 'there but for the grace of God go I' applies in many situations and is worth remembering.

havenobrain I think you're talking rubbish. People who work cash in hand rarely earn as much as those paying tax. And £70 a day is a lot of money for an ambulance chaser to be paid as well as bonus. She probably earns £70 a week, and is entitled to the other help she's getting. But yeah, report her anyway, that'll be this weeks entertainment sorted.

LoopyLoopsChupaChups · 01/04/2011 20:44

Shirley, you like ilk? Made me think if elk, then gnu. What a fine word, gnu!

ShirleyKnot · 01/04/2011 20:47

I DO like ilk. I especially like it when I get called "one of their ilk" it's so rude!

gnu is great as is yak. Yak is better for scrabble though

missslc · 01/04/2011 20:47

I would confront her- it is wrong and not fair on everyone who does not screw the system in the way many people have been doing in the UK for years- the problem is that the system is naive and badly set up that it enables people who have no moral scruples and are frankly mainly just greedy and dishonest.

StuckinTheMiddlewithYou · 01/04/2011 20:48

You don't really like her. Stop talking to her and get on with your life as opposed to thinking up ways to ruin her life.

havenobrain · 01/04/2011 20:49

I have spoken to her. I am very honest with her. That's why we have fallen out before. She's selfish. I suppose the real reason I'm friends with her is for the children. My dc love them&so do I. I'm not going to report her but my post was that I want to.

ballstoit As you don't know me, or my life, and have no idea whether I am/was poor/wealthy, I think you've made the right decision in not arguing with me...... it would hardly be balanced Hmm

GORGEOUSX · 01/04/2011 20:51

ohnoyoudidnt That's what DH says to me, every night Grin

LoveLeonardCohen · 01/04/2011 20:53

what ballstoit said (intriguing name)....actually a considered and intelligent response, different from the witch-hunt-like 'Report the bitch' responses

iwantadogbutarabbitwoulddo · 01/04/2011 20:56

ballstoit i fancy you

ShirleyKnot · 01/04/2011 20:57

Hello OP, great to see you back. Can you explain the anomoly between your terrible close but not close palming off kids friends' job please?

I have a couple of questions - I'm sure you can answer them, being as well versed in her finances as you are.

  1. If she is working Cash In Hand and she is working for an accident claim company, how does this work?

  2. What do you mean by "more money if the public that she names has a successful claim."

Thanks in advance!

ShirleyKnot payer of HMRC taxes

iwantadogbutarabbitwoulddo · 01/04/2011 20:58

i don't pay taxes :( i wish i did :( :(

beesimo · 01/04/2011 20:59

GORGEOUSX

Not rich enough to have a accountant methinks

Can probably afford 50p for a Daily Fail

Maternelle · 01/04/2011 21:00

Reporting is vile.
It's not benefits cheats who destroy the economy but rather tax evasion by big corporations.

usualsuspect · 01/04/2011 21:03

I don't pay my taxes blah blah fucking blah benefit cheats blah fucking blah

has she a big telly?

GORGEOUSX · 01/04/2011 21:06

beesimo think what you like. I've got more class than to come on here and tell the world about my finances - and I only read The Times Grin

havenobrain · 01/04/2011 21:08

When I said cash in hand i suppose it's not really. It gets paid into someone elses account and they then transfer it to hers. It is risky and Im sure she will get court. Iv said to her that she needs to stop or be really careful.
I wouldn't report her as like already said it would effect the children and they are my main concern.
She hasn't told me specifically that she is doing it but she says what money she gets and what she is buying etc.
She smokes and drinks very heavily& hits the town twice a week!
She has the life of a person that has no responsibilities. She has never had it hard. Her dads a millionaire and her mum bails her out with parking fines& dropping fag fines.
Like Iv said my love and care is for the children.
I'm being very honest on here.

And when she brings home her £70.00 daily earnings she takes it out of her pocket and rolls around in it on the front lawn in full view of the neighbours shouting "You're all suckers!"

GORGEOUSX · 01/04/2011 21:10

havenobrain · 01/04/2011 21:10

Ps everyone really does say exactly what they think on here don't they!
Don't hold back anyone.
I'm pleased that I'll never meet some of you.

OP posts:
ballstoit · 01/04/2011 21:13

GORGEOUSX - I didnt comment on whether you were rich/poor, I was describing the delightful specimens who I have the pleasure of spending my days with.

And clearly you have a lot of class, as indicated by your disdain for those who are fortunate enough to find themselves in receipt of your hard earned taxes.

Particles · 01/04/2011 21:13

OP I'm sure it won't be long before she gets a knock at the door anyway if she's being careless like that. Data matching is pretty accurate these days and her bank statements can easily be checked out. You can relax and keep your hands all sparkly and free of blood!

Can see why you're unhappy about it but you are doing your best for your family and she is putting hers at risk. I know in which scenario I would sleep better at night.

ShirleyKnot · 01/04/2011 21:23

"it gets paid into someone elses account and they then transfer it to hers. It is risky and Im sure she will get court"

arf! Cor blimey guv, sounds like a blimming RING of benefit scroungers!

As to the smoking and drinking - Judge your audience

Dropping fag fines? Her dad's a millionaire?

I luvs her littlies.

"I'm pleased that I'll never meet some of you" - not coming to the Spring Meet?

I'm going to be tough. I want to be kind and say something like
"You tried really hard, I caarn see these was an effort for ye and Ye reeely reely warnt this"

but instead I'm going to say

"This was the one of the worse attempts at winding a forum up EVER"

glasnost · 01/04/2011 21:23

What a mean spirited, vindictive country the UK's fast becoming thanks to the masses being manipulated by powers that be into shopping their own (imaginary?) friends as opposed to getting sweaty and in a lather about corrupt, greedy bankers and their dodgy ilk. How depressing.

usualsuspect · 01/04/2011 21:24

Its a half hearted attempt really
