Right then, lets keep it clean like 99% of the last one :)

Morning! Am very tired. My child thinks it's OK to be awake for two hours in the night!

Thought I'd follow on from the teaching theme for this morning's unpopular opinions... Some children are rude and ill-mannered and not worthy of my time and effort... Some teachers are not good enough and we should be saying so, not just paying them more because they have done it for another year... Schools waste a lot of money on unnecessary things... It would be much better if I was in charge!! Grin

boosmummie · 02/04/2011 09:27

Morning.

FunnyBB we should run the show together!

Jacksmania · 02/04/2011 17:01

Yes, my unpopular opinion of the day is that if I ran the world, it would be a much better place! :o

Jacksmania · 03/04/2011 16:32

Shoot, killed the thread again...

Salmotrutta · 03/04/2011 16:52

No Jack - you didn't!
I agree that if you ran the world it would be better! Grin

Jacksmania · 04/04/2011 04:06

Bloody hell, I'm not doing too well with unpopular opinions :o

dontcallmepeanut · 04/04/2011 04:45

It is not unreasonable to, when DS gets up at 5am, sneak him into your room and stick Beauty and the Beast on for him. It buys 3 hours of peace and quiet, if you leave fast play on.

When I don't get out of uni til 4, I will treat DS to macdonalds, sometimes. That way, by the time we get home, all that needs to be done is bath, teeth, book and bed.

Being a full time student does not mean I'm missing out. What do you think weekends and half days are for? Hmm

boosmummie · 04/04/2011 13:33

DCMPeanut that is a very reasonable and totally acceptable thing to do at 5am. Or 6am and possibly 7am too!

Probably unpopular with many, but frankly hasn't done any of my children any harm - If they drop food on the floor and there is nothing there that concerns me, then they can eat it. Why waste? After all, short of sterilising the entire contents of the house, they put endless bits of crap/toys in their mouths anyway.

Which leads to: I stopped sterilising as soon as DCs were moving about and shoving anything in their mouths. Why bother? Never been adversely ill - certainly not from non-sterilising stuff.

DD3 had biscuits for breakfast today. Again. Out of milk. It was that or nothing.

dontcallmepeanut · 04/04/2011 14:00

DS is having Pizza Hut for tea... Firstly, I have to finish reading Pig. Secondly, I need to finish my coursework. Thirdly, we had a £5 voucher, which can be used on the £7.99 deal in. Which means dinner will be cheaper than if I was cooking spag bol, as I originally planned... plus it means I'm not holed in the kitchen. Mum would hate me right now...

boosmummie · 04/04/2011 14:09

We won't tell! Grin

Salmotrutta · 04/04/2011 14:24

Make sure you throw in a Fruit Shoot peanut - Grin Grin

Sounds like a very sensible plan to me!

dontcallmepeanut · 04/04/2011 15:52

Oh no, skip the fruit shoot... I'm giving him a vodka n orange (jk)

Anyway, he'll love me for it... Not like he'll be eating too healthy when we visit Mumsy dearest in Cyprus in June. They serve chips with everything...

dontcallmepeanut · 04/04/2011 17:34

OK, this one will go down like a lead balloon, but I actually do like the Disney Princess films. So does DS. Doesn't mean either of us wants to be a princess when we grow up though.

boosmummie · 04/04/2011 18:28

I hate them! But I have two teenage daughters who loved them and my smallest daughter who has just turned two is showing scary signs of liking them too. I imagine I hate them because I became rather sick of having them on constantly......!

hissymissy · 04/04/2011 18:34

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' is some of the best telly going. I bought the box set for me for DS and am now watching it while DS is out playing.

dontcallmepeanut · 04/04/2011 18:40

Ahhh, my DS asks every time we head in to the city "Can we go and watch Tangled again?" Roll on May when it's released on DVD... although, considering Disney's profits, would it really be unreasonable to download just one film? I'd end up buying the DVD anyway, just for the bonus features...

dontcallmepeanut · 04/04/2011 18:41

Hissy, I've lost count of the number of times I've sat there watching DS's films after he's gone to bed. He, however, has taken a liking to the Friends box-set...

boosmummie · 04/04/2011 18:43

RUNS

dontcallmepeanut · 04/04/2011 18:45

Hehe, might do that then... My best friend tells me I'm too straight laced... But then again, I love the bonus features, and the commentaries. I know... I'm a geek... Blush

hissymissy · 04/04/2011 18:49

Oh me too dontcallmepeanut. I watched 2 episodes with voice overs from the makers and voice actors yesterday (sad!).

Jacksmania · 04/04/2011 18:52

My DS loves Cinderella. He and DH have made up a song:
"Cinderelly Cinderelly oh your bum is kind of smelly..."
:o

hissymissy · 04/04/2011 18:53

Grin love the ditty JM

boosmummie · 04/04/2011 19:02

To be fair, I am in Spain and the stuff from the Lookies in my particular spot is rather splendid! And 'my' Looky has been around for at least 5 years and knows I would break his legs be rather irked if they were crap quality!

dontcallmepeanut · 04/04/2011 19:14

Ahh, I know the sites to download from, and some of them state DVD quality (BF says that they are as such - he's a reliable sort)

DS loves Mary Poppins... Sings along to Chim-chimeree with the lyrics "chip-chippity"... Grin

boosmummie · 04/04/2011 19:25

NOw you're talking. I love Mary P! The share sites are so much better these days, I use one for music, but I think they do films too.
