Is there any celebrity well known person that is admired/deemed acceptable by the whole of MN?

I doubt it.

Grin

I'll start by throwing Lauren Laverne and Timmy Mallet into the mix.

David Attenborough is predictable because he's been consistently good since before many of us were born.

Needanewname · 24/03/2011 21:22

He annoys me (mp) I'm afraid!

Rolf Harris, David Bellamy, johnny ball!!!

GrimmaTheNome · 24/03/2011 21:23

Yes, how did we miss Michael Palin?

maighdlin · 24/03/2011 21:24

David Bellamy? Hasn't he got a notoriously bad temper?

Desiderata · 24/03/2011 21:26

I'm going with an early answer: the Fonz.

Surely it's got to be Joanna Lumley? Just ask any Ghurka.

bibbitybobbityhat · 24/03/2011 21:26

Joan Bakewell.

Sigourney Weaver.

I can only think of those two.

colditz · 24/03/2011 21:26

Tim Minchin.

Who wouldn't adore him? hehas a beautiful voice, and is pant-inducingly intelligent.

And he undoes his shirt sometimes

Needanewname · 24/03/2011 21:27

Does he? Oh well back to David Attenborough then!

phooey · 24/03/2011 21:27

No to Johnny Depp. He looks like a pretentious wanker, I have noo idea why so many women find him sexually appealing.

Yes to David Mitchell, Charlie Brooker and Dolly.

Thingumy · 24/03/2011 21:28

I read a interview with Fry and his love of cocaine- apparently it made crosswords more palatable.

I have a feeling he could be correct in his findings...

Still a bit of a arse for publicly condoning drug use though but hey ho,he's awful posh and intelligent so gets away with it.

phooey · 24/03/2011 21:29

And yes to Gordon Brown.

Needanewname · 24/03/2011 21:30

But the Fonz ain't real!

Desiderata · 24/03/2011 21:30

Fry is a pompous bore by all accounts.

And Brown is a twat.

Come on, ladies. Try harder.

HarderToKidnap · 24/03/2011 21:31

Cate Blanchett.

OBVIOUSLY.

Gemjar · 24/03/2011 21:32

Mark Thomas

greentig3r · 24/03/2011 21:33

Monty Don?
Nigel Slater?

Thingumy · 24/03/2011 21:33

Gwyneth

No to Lumley and Fry. Charlie Brooker's voice is too shrill

LadyOfTheManor · 24/03/2011 21:34

Joanna Lumley.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 24/03/2011 21:34

Caroline Aherne
Marion Keyes

LadyOfTheManor · 24/03/2011 21:34

Oh dammit. How could you disagree before I posted?! Magical.

Hmmm

Dawn French?

LadyOfTheManor · 24/03/2011 21:35

No, not shit chick lit authors.
