Just happened upon the last one and liked it, so ...

I don't think The King's Speech is that great a film; I think the directing was often unimaginative, cliched and banal and the script obvious. And Helena Bonham Carter wasn't that good.

I love Baby Led Weaning and think it's far easier than trying to spoon mush into a baby.

I do hate the name though.

I love BF and think it's possibly one of the greatest things on earth but I think formula is a marvellous invention.

P & C spaces shouldn't exist. Just make every other space slightly wider.

The xbox360 is a shit console and the PS3 is far superior.

The trailers for The Kings Speech almost send me to sleep so not even going to bother watching the film.

Keira knightly is not that pretty.

Runningjustasfastasican · 20/03/2011 19:18

I too hate character clothing but love mcdonalds - mmmm chocolate milkshake!

...I think BabyDubs is amazing... Grin

robotlollypopman · 20/03/2011 19:21

Footballers deserve every penny they're paid. They help generate it. Plus nobody complains about pop stars or actors who sometimes get paid more. Footballers are just an easy target.

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 20/03/2011 19:22

BabyDubs , I'm gonna sit here till 1000 posts and police it to make sure it stays that way! :)

hormonesnomore · 20/03/2011 19:24

I surprised myself very much as I loved The Kings Speech.

And I love this thread. We're all stating different opinions and not being nasty to each other.

robotlollypopman · 20/03/2011 19:26

Plus, soldiers aren't necessarily heroes. I hate the fact that the media immortalises them and the term Our Boys makes me shudder a little. Yes, they're brave. But they also chose to become soldiers.

Also, when people say that our soldiers shouldn't be at war. What do they propose soldiers do instead? They're soldiers!

I do like soldier ants though.

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 20/03/2011 19:28

Overuse of the word "soldiers" RLPM ??

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 19:28

I had 3 children in my early 20s and one at 38 so I may just run before LOTM shoots me Grin

McD's chocolate milkshake is vile, but the strawberry one rocks.

I hate character clothing, but I have conceded to Peppa wellies and one pair of Peppa Jams.

allsquare that's why the fan club exists Grin

robotlollypopman · 20/03/2011 19:28

I also don't like cutting my toast into strips before dipping it into an egg.

RedbinD · 20/03/2011 19:30

RLPM- perhaps they chose to be soldiers because they are brave.

robotlollypopman · 20/03/2011 19:31

They could have chosen to become Native American Indians?

SolpadeineMaxed · 20/03/2011 19:32

Some people are professional victims and don't want to be helped to get over their problems and they build a whole persona around their it. If that was taken away there would be nothing left.

Motherhood is bad for your health.

Dogs are vastly overrated, ditto cats and all pets in general.

givemushypeasachance · 20/03/2011 19:32

Able-bodied people who live somewhere with pavements/footpaths and who drive distances of less than three miles to get somewhere are just lazy. [I do it myself sometimes when getting the bike out is a faff and I leave it too late to walk, I count myself in the lazy group then too.]

Eating shellfish is no different to eating insects - prawns are just sea-going woodlice, crabs are spiders, etc. That's basically a biological fact and if you eat one you should happily eat the other.

Spending £4 on a trash-and-advert-filled glossy magazine is as mentally and culturally productive as flushing your crash down the toilet.

Children under the age of 9-10yo should not be allowed to have their own pets. Assist with caring for family pets, yes. But 99.9% of younger children will not be capable of safely looking after a small animal on their own and not doing something stupid like trying to dress the hamster up in a doll's outfit, not to mention that they will most likely give up cleaning it out after the first two weeks. Maybe if there was some sort of training class you have to pass first - for everyone, not just kids - that would be even better.

The coffee flavour ones in Revels are the nicest.

LadyOfTheManor · 20/03/2011 19:33

I also don't think soldiers are heroes. Partly because I was born in an Arabic country to an Arabic father-and am therefore biased to the war, but partly because they sign up to do a job then either complain or sue when things don't go their way.

They do their job like doctors and nurses and policeman. I don't call them heroes either.

SolpadeineMaxed · 20/03/2011 19:33
  • around it. Not, around their it.
Itsjustafleshwound · 20/03/2011 19:33

I don't want to be a permanent child entertainer - we have bought them their toys/bits - now get on with it!

Harry Potter is for kids and isn't as great as everyone has made it out to be.

Letting little children/toddlers run around naked in public is just wrong

LadyOfTheManor · 20/03/2011 19:34

No one should like the strawberry filled crap in a box of Roses. They are vile.

feeblephoebe · 20/03/2011 19:35

there should be no parent and child spaces

dannyblanchflower · 20/03/2011 19:36

I did baby led weaning 18 years ago when it was called bad parenting (all that messy feeding from spoons made me feel queasy Grin )

When people give me muddy vegetables from their gardens I throw them out of the back door for the rabbits rather than wash them.

robotlollypopman · 20/03/2011 19:37

My DW should agree to join naturist clubs with me.

activate · 20/03/2011 19:37

I don't think religious beliefs automatically deserve respect

I think people deserve respect - but just because you've devoted yourself to a specific religion does not mean that automatically others should subjugate their own opinions for your archaic, and usually twisted faith

BabyDubsEverywhere · 20/03/2011 19:38

RIGHT! its kicking off -

ITSJUSTAFLESHWOUND

Harry Potter is the world and everything the book and the films and i will not hear another word against it

BabyDubs Flounces off thread Angry

boosmummie · 20/03/2011 19:39

Oh me oh my I agree with LOTM on the strawberry crap sweets Grin

Maybe she will reconsider shooting me now

Bed time is good. Peace is nice. Bath on my own is a dream.

Why are they called soldiers anyway? They're sticks of buttered toast?
