Just happened upon the last one and liked it, so ...

I don't think The King's Speech is that great a film; I think the directing was often unimaginative, cliched and banal and the script obvious. And Helena Bonham Carter wasn't that good.

Hahahaha at sahms with cleaners being lazy.

Woman, be about thy cleaning.

Errr. No thanks. Many better things to do.

Women who would still clean when they really did not have to are very odd. Seriously? You win £3,000,000 on the lottery, chose to chuck in your job and spend your days dusting and hoovering?

GetOrfMoiLand · 21/03/2011 08:52

Mothers clubbing with their teenage daughters is deeply sad.

Mothers wanting to be best friends with their teenage daughters is also deeply sad.

LadyOfTheManor · 21/03/2011 09:02

Yes, Margaret, 52 from Poole just won £64,000,000 on Euro Millions, she says;

"Ooo I could never give up my work care taking at the school..."

Seriously, do fuck off.

What's wrong with complaining about the over medicalisation of childbirth? Surely all one is saying there is that unneccessary medical intervention is a bad thing, and I don't see how anyone can argue that it is good to have a medical procedure that you don't need.

Neccessary medical interventions are a cat of a totally different colour, and I am very grateful indeed that we live in a society where we can save the lives of mothers and babies that otherwise might have been lost, and can prevent damage that otherwise might have been permanent.

There are also studies proving that homebirths can be safer than hospital births because they avoid unneccessary medical interventions.

LadyOfTheManor · 21/03/2011 09:07

Here here

I am a home-birther. (I also make up my own words on a daily basis, today's is "birther").

4foxache It was 5.00 here! DD is too little to sing. We just get "aaaaaaaah" and "eeeeeeee" for an hour.

Can't wait til I go back to work from maternity leave and can have my cleaner again. I'm having one of those days today where I clean things and they still look grubby. I don't think I'm very good at it.

Here's my unpopular opinion for the morning; sure start baby groups have been taken over by middle class bugaboo driving 'mummies' and they've scared off the mums they were actually designed for...

YouTry · 21/03/2011 09:10

That was supposed to be a ':' not a ';'... I can punctuate properly!

Runningjustasfastasican · 21/03/2011 09:14

Re: Sure Start - definitely not where I live!

YouTry · 21/03/2011 09:15

Must be a symptom of where I live then! Doesn't surprise me!

4FoxAche · 21/03/2011 09:27

youtry well he's only 6 months so not really singing. It is very tuneful though. Grin

I agree, re: Sure Start.

wellwisher · 21/03/2011 09:33

Most vegan women are secretly anorexic.

CrapBag · 21/03/2011 09:34

People should be able to have an opinion (as it is that, someones opionion) without people coming along and bashing them for what they think, regardless of experiences with said opinion.

boosmummie · 21/03/2011 10:03

Morning all, I can see that this is still as stupid as last night!

Brew anyone!

LOTM I whole heartedly agree with you

wannaBe · 21/03/2011 10:10

well I had a bizarre conversation in a shop the other day about someone who had won the lottery. She said this woman had apparently won £2.4M or something but that she had still kept her job in Asda. but then went on to say "well, how dare she. after all, jobs are limited and someone else probably needed that job more than her." Hmm

wannaBe · 21/03/2011 10:13

but as for my opinions:

Cadburys cream eggs are revolting.
green and blacks chocolate is revolting
just because a seven year old is capable of breastfeeding, doesn't mean that it's normal or should be seen to be normal.
Vegans are some of the most ill looking people on the planet.

bupcakesandcunting · 21/03/2011 10:16

Not an unpopular opinion just a stray thought... If I "wun big" I would open my own tea shoppe and spend my days baking scones and cakes and serving up afternoon tea to naice ladies on mismatched china. DH is confused about why I would choose to do this as a gazillionaire because I wouldn't need the money but IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY YOU MONUMENTAL FUCKWIT.

Brad Pitt looks like he smells faintly of piss,

YouTry · 21/03/2011 10:18

Brad Pitt looks like he smells faintly of piss

I'm not disagreeing with you, but what gives you this impression?!

Rafael Nadal is MUCH too young for me but I so so would.

bupcakesandcunting · 21/03/2011 10:19

I don't know why. He just does. Just like Ricky Gervais looks like he has halitosis (I love Gervais but he DOES look stinky of breath)

MadameOvary · 21/03/2011 10:22

Bupcakes - I think it's all those pics of him looking porky and sweaty, no?

I've just had a Saint Paul on the road to Damascus-style epiphany. Brad Pitt looks a bit like Andrew Hadjiouni from primary school and Andrew Hadjiouni smelled faintly of piss.

Hammy02 · 21/03/2011 10:25

Loads of people think they are middle class when they aren't.

boosmummie · 21/03/2011 10:33

Bup good morning. I understand completely your Ricky Gervais bad breathe theory!

boosmummie · 21/03/2011 10:33

or perhaps breath????

YouTry · 21/03/2011 10:35

Yes, I agree about Ricky Gervais too. While we're on the subject I think that saturday kitchen man (James Martin?), he looks a bit stinky...
