To not know what to call DS's "bits"

DSs are 6 and 4 and we have always said willy but now they have picked up "nuts" from school. I don't particularly like hearing them say it but suppose it is better that many words they could use! What are they called in your families?

Well quite right - if they are what they are then surely the other bits are what they are also!?
Willy and Goolies here. Apparently I have a wee wee.

lottiejenkins · 14/03/2011 07:51

Willy or Ging Gang Goolies here!!!

FreudianSlippery · 14/03/2011 07:56

I agree floot and medi, each to their own etc but I find it just as odd/hang-up-y to insist on anatomical terms as it is to insist on ridiculous euphemisms (ie not commonly used ones like willy) but that's just IMHO...

Heebiejeebie · 14/03/2011 07:56

I applaud the anatomists, but do you wipe their anus, natal cleft and perineum or bum?

Heard mangina recently and thought that rather hilarious, if not entirely appropriate :o

I don't like 'bits' but I'm not sure why. I also find it's use on the buy and sell boards objectional (although I believe it just means 'items' there :))

PfftTheMagicDragon · 15/03/2011 07:53

Heebie - what is your silly frou-frou name for the perineum then? Hmm Or the natal cleft? Do you have one for that? Why are you asking if we use it? No fucker has a child friendly pet name for their perineum, surely?! Grin

AlfalfaMum · 15/03/2011 15:00

'Bum' covers all of those pfft :)

Quenelle · 15/03/2011 15:13

Willy and biscuits here (DH started biscuits). Although DS doesn't call them anything yet. He just tugs on them. Or suddenly stops dead and stares down at them.

Jaydles · 15/03/2011 15:20

DS calls his tail and nuts, thats from school. DD calls hers a fairy. Although at the minute she is insisting she has nuts - comes from having 2 brothers I suppose. DS1 does know the correct names for his bits but chooses not to use them

dementedma · 15/03/2011 20:16

what the hell's a "natal cleft"? Confused

supersewer · 15/03/2011 21:42

we have always just had "bits" for both DS and DD, although DS is a budding scientist and I have heard him correct DD in a very superior voice, "it's really a penis you know!!!"

TwoNoisyBoys · 15/03/2011 22:19

Its always been "willy" with my two boys, but my youngest DS age 5 has recently started clutching himself and shouting "Ooooh, right in the gonies" whenever a stray ball/toy/ etc hits him......a shortening off "gonads" apparently, according to my DH! I definitely think its a subject of much discussion and mirth in the playground Grin
