To not know what to call DS's "bits"

DSs are 6 and 4 and we have always said willy but now they have picked up "nuts" from school. I don't particularly like hearing them say it but suppose it is better that many words they could use! What are they called in your families?

Thank you for your help, I laughed at tentacles. I know they should use the proper words but it does sound odd coming from a small person. I do hope they grow out of it soon as most conversations between them seem to revolve around bodily functions at the moment.

willy. He is only 15 months so right now does not need to know the actual different biological parts Wink.

Funny though, we call DDs private parts her 'bits' or 'girly bits' and she therefore often refers to DSs as 'boy bits' as well as willy. (Vulva just sounds so... clinical..Hmm although she does know what it is called).

PavlovtheCat · 13/03/2011 18:35

and the Crown/Family Jewels when talking about DHs Grin

mitochondria · 13/03/2011 18:39

My son came up with "winky onions" for testicles.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 13/03/2011 18:42

Penis. He occasionally calls it his winky and giggles, I assume this is a popular one at school. Have always called it a penis though, it's what it is!

Glitterknickaz · 13/03/2011 18:45

for all three (2 boys, 1 girl) generic bits
then specifics boys willie and danglies... little lady we use noonie

Silverlace · 13/03/2011 18:50

I love winky onions and danglies!

My sons have a tooloo and my daughters have a minnie. I dont know why but it makes me cringe when small children use words like penis and vagina, i like to think that my little cute daughter has a minnie rather than a vagina. She'll grow up and then and only then will she have a 'vagina', Kind of like she has a tummy now, but in time will have a stomach.

welshbyrd · 13/03/2011 18:58

Its called a pecker at this house, not sure why though Confused

CupcakesHay · 13/03/2011 19:01

Oooh - like Willy and pods. Hadn't thought about this - but handy to have a few ideas for when DS gets older. Smile

HighHeelMomma · 13/03/2011 19:09

My mother called our front bottoms 'twinkie' which I think was originally 'twinkle'. So my DD aged 3 refers to hers as this for now, she thinks boys/men have long twinkies!. Ah well, she has plenty of time to learn the correct names.....

TheOohAahBird · 13/03/2011 19:13

Ds calls his Bob Grin

Balls for the rest. His older cousin refers to 'nuts' which I also dislike quite a bit but I do think ds will inevitably be influenced by his friends and other boys in the adjectives he uses.

2cats2many · 13/03/2011 19:14

Penis and testicles here. I just don't see the point in all these euphemisms.

Nagoo · 13/03/2011 19:17

WTF? Willy (he does know penis though) and testicles.

DD has a vulva.

I'm the opposite of mooshie in that twee euphemisms make me vomit (all due respect and all that :) )

Once you start saying vulva, it just stops being a strange word and is just a normal one.

ModreB · 13/03/2011 19:43

DS3 had an op on his when he was small, and when trying to tell my mum what had happened at hospital, he called them his "Pirates" rather than his "Privates" The name stuck Grin

LadyOfTheManor · 13/03/2011 19:46

It's a willy atm (my ds was 1 last week). It'll be penis in the next year or two.

bristols · 13/03/2011 19:53

Winky/penis and testicles. We are quite keen on using proper terms although it did come back to haunt us when DS1 (4) called DS2 (3) a "Silly Scrotum" at the top of his voice in Debenhams once... Grin

seeker · 13/03/2011 20:44

And I hate "bits" above all things. I would almost rather have twinkie or tuppence than bits!

PfftTheMagicDragon · 13/03/2011 20:51

"i like to think that my little cute daughter has a minnie rather than a vagina"

But she doesn't. She has a vulva and vagina. Nothing shameful or horrid about it.

Happylander · 13/03/2011 20:52

winky woo....

berylmuspratt · 13/03/2011 20:55

DS (5) was pointing at the guinea pigs bits today and shouted, oooooo big buttocks :o DH told him they are actually gentleman plums :) obviously they are guinea pig plums, but it did make me laugh.
Gentlemantalia is a great expression :)

pranma · 13/03/2011 20:55

we tried with penis testicles put poor dgs1 had pennies and tickles!!!His mum has gone back to willy and bag for dgs2

Itrymybest · 13/03/2011 21:11

Seona1973 · 13/03/2011 21:21

KingofHighVis · 13/03/2011 21:30

Or a latin one.
