DF and I go into our local Costa every Wednesday morning and sit in the same seats.

The manager adores us and provides suberp services to us.

This morning when we arrives there was somebody on our table. Shock

AIBU to think that he should have told encouraged this woman to sit in the draft elsewhere? Or at least look remorseful for his lack of sycophanticness?

Thinking of taking my business to Starbux.

You are bored aren't you, Chaos? [grin}

anythingwithagiraffeonit · 09/03/2011 12:24

This isn't real right? You're looking for people to argue with you?

Hammy02 · 09/03/2011 12:25

I assume this is a wind-up. 'In your seat'. Eh?

trixie123 · 09/03/2011 12:26

I was in costa today and the manager came and asked me to move because I was sat at the table of one of his regulars. was I BU to refuse? Hmm

BadBagel · 09/03/2011 12:26

You should have put your towel there first thing this morning :o

theyoungvisiter · 09/03/2011 12:28

is this a thread about a thread?

manicbmc · 09/03/2011 12:28

Did you have your name on it? Grin

worraliberty · 09/03/2011 12:29

Is it just me who hates all these poncey coffee shops? Give me a greasy spoon any day Blush

LaurieFairyCake · 09/03/2011 12:33

I loooove coffee shops and think we should utterly cherish our independant ones - I would love to open one.

What I really wish for is for Lyons corner tea rooms to open again - if I find an independant tea room I like I go there too.

I think my idea of heaven is the bookshop/tea room they open in the book 'Bookends' - scrummy home made cakes, decent coffee, sofas and books. I wish they had one in every village/town.

I'd rather go there than the pub most of the time.

Flisspaps · 09/03/2011 12:36

Suberp? What, he even winds you after your coffee?

Now that's service!

Psammead · 09/03/2011 12:37

I hope you waited for them afterwards and beat them up in the alley.

Don't they know who you are? FGS!

Cloudbase · 09/03/2011 12:40

Dreadful. I shall boycott Costa forthwith Grin

outnumbered2to1 · 09/03/2011 12:43

morning chaos.....!! is it too quiet for you today? lol

Mollymax · 09/03/2011 12:44

Reminds me of the episode of Friends, when there are two men sitting on the friends sofa in the coffee shop. Hilarious. :)

PigValentine · 09/03/2011 12:48

Mollymax I thought of that too! Smile

ChippingInMistressSteamMop · 09/03/2011 12:48

Chaos BTR - you really should find a lovely local deli to have your morning tea in. Hopefully they will stock some lovely products worth buying as well Wink

AbsDuCroissant · 09/03/2011 12:55

you are NOT being unreasonable. Pscha - this is why I avoid Costa, no customer loyalty.

The least he could have done is moved them on and banned them for even thinking to sit in your place

LifeIsButtercream · 09/03/2011 13:07

Well, I was in Costa the other day and there was a lady sitting in my seat, and she was breastfeeding - from her BREAST! Shock I mean, you could even see the baby's head! AND to make it worse the baby then farted. Loudly. I mean who brings noisy children with no manners into coffee shops?!?!?!?!

mischievous giggle

PinkToeNails · 09/03/2011 13:11

I thought of Friends too. I can't believe those bullies stole your table! YANBU. manager should be sacked. Don't go back there again!

PinkToeNails · 09/03/2011 13:21

NO. PLEASE. Not the babies head!!! Some people eh? I bet the baby burped really loudly too.

PinkToeNails · 09/03/2011 13:26

baby's head

KaraStarbuckThrace · 09/03/2011 13:31

Disgusting these farting babies. They should take them to the loo!!

Boredom - I think it is disgusting. You should insist on a grovelling apology and 2 free lattes.

Psammead · 09/03/2011 13:42

YABU.

You should have sat on the floor. In the dirt. In the loos. Your sense of entitlement is mind-boggling.

I suppose you expected someone to run around after you, did you? Like you are royalty or something? 'oh what would you like, Lady Muck? Let me get that for you, Lady Muck.' and you'd quite happily watch them bring your coffee to up you too, I bet.

Get up off your arse, from the dirt in the loos and go to Columbia and grow the frickin coffee yourself, you lazy mare. And grind it. With your bare hands. Then you will have earned a chair. In the loos.

Jesus. Some people don't know they are born.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 09/03/2011 13:45
Shock

Sense of entitlement?

Nope, I just would have expected him to have quietly mentioned something to her, there were loads of other tables free.

It's not much to ask is it if we put that much regular money over the counter?

Confused
Gingefringe · 09/03/2011 13:50

Go to Starbux - they have those horrible massive mugs that they fill with froth and dont give you spoons.
