to think the manager of Costa should have been more accomodating?

BoredomTrulyReigns · 09/03/2011 12:23

DF and I go into our local Costa every Wednesday morning and sit in the same seats.

The manager adores us and provides suberp services to us.

This morning when we arrives there was somebody on our table. Shock

AIBU to think that he should have told encouraged this woman to sit in the draft elsewhere? Or at least look remorseful for his lack of sycophanticness?

Thinking of taking my business to Starbux.

Hang on. I am not sure if this is a joke any more.

Was your OP a joke?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 09/03/2011 13:56

Nope, not a joke.

There were loads of empty tables psammead.

Psammead · 09/03/2011 14:02

YABVUAWBFATWWTRC.

ledkr · 09/03/2011 14:05

it was me,i was sat in your seat farting and breatfeeding.

ledkr · 09/03/2011 14:05

breat feeding is the new breast feeding dont you know

ChaosTrulyReigns · 09/03/2011 14:08

I don't know how this thread has gone all spirally?

No, there was no baby involved.

Would no-one else feel saddened by this?

Confused
theyoungvisiter · 09/03/2011 14:10

Well, clearly the manager doesn't adore you quite as much as you thought. [wipes eye]

Guess you'll have to learn to live with that sadness.

Psammead · 09/03/2011 14:12

Oh FFS Chaos.

Why couldn't you just sit elsewhere? It's not 'your' seat.

I was joking with my other post, but really, your sense of entitlement is huge Shock

TobyLerone · 09/03/2011 14:13

YABU for saying 'sycophanticness', and not 'sycophancy' Grin

theyoungvisiter · 09/03/2011 14:13

I think the clue is in your post of 13:56:18, "There were loads of empty tables".

Well, er, quite. Maybe the manager adores these other women too? Perhaps he's two timing you, the coffee-frothing bastard?

MissVerinder · 09/03/2011 14:14

Leave the bastard. Grin

TobyLerone · 09/03/2011 14:15

OMG. Just read the rest of the thread. It wasn't a joke?

Wow.

HecateTheCrone · 09/03/2011 14:18

Grin Yes, you daft bugger. You are totally unreasonable.

And I know what you mean. You do have this idea of 'your' table in a place you go to all the time.

It's completely unreasonable of course, but it happens. I do it.

I don't expect people to move, but I do think hurumph, you're in my seat.

same with my parking space. On the road. To which I have no special parking right.

Psammead · 09/03/2011 14:22

This has really wound me up.

Another sypmtom of our 'me me me' 'want want want' society.

Where are all the adults gone? Sad

loonyrationalist · 09/03/2011 14:22

Yanbu that is a disgrace. The lack of sycophanticness is a disgrace - I'm sure he was secretly embarrased that you & DF had to sit at a lesser table. I agree the ignorant customers should have been banned - make & laminate a "reserved" sign. I'm sure the manager won't mind putting it out every wednesday morning to avoid such unpleasantness in the future.[wunk]

ledkr · 09/03/2011 14:23

omg? Do you have any other interests op?If i was that manager id pay someone to sit in the bloody seat every time you came in.Grin

Er Psammead, all the "adults" are guffawing on this thread at the weirdness of the OP. Not sure why one bonkers post equates to society going down the toilet?!

ledkr · 09/03/2011 14:24

Grin at [wunk]

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 09/03/2011 14:31

I think the manager behaved apaullingly (sic)

doutzen · 09/03/2011 14:34

I'd be a bit miffed
Expecting them to move/be moved is U, though

Psammead · 09/03/2011 14:38

It's that kind of attitude that got the Lib-Cons in. Hmm

CheeseandPickledOnion · 09/03/2011 14:47

Why the hell should she have to move?

So you didn't get your table. Shock horror. Just because you're regulars doesn't mean you're entitled to that seat. This isn't Friends you know?

PeachesandStrawberry · 09/03/2011 15:22

Is this a joke.

If no YABU. You don't own the cafe.

mumsgotatum · 09/03/2011 16:00

YABU most definately. Can you not be a little flexible?
