I completed our census stuff online last night and DH is miffed as I didn't put him as person 1. He says he feels emasculated and him as person 1 is the way things should be (i.e. traditional) as he is the "head of the house".

He is the only earner as I am currently a SAHM, he also does more of the cooking where as I do the DIY (we play to our strengths so not traditional in other ways).

He's not sulking or anything but he is brooding on this. So good ladies (and men) of mn was IBU as the person filling the bloody form in to put myself down as person 1?

Person 1 is the person filling in the form. Tell him he can do it online and leave him to it

YABU. You should not have been filling in the form yourself, because ladies are very silly and make all kinds of mistakes. I find it a bit iffy that you know how to write at all, since teaching women literacy only makes them sly.

I was just thinking about this the other day, who will I put as person 1? As when our ancestors look at the forms (I assume most houses will be female) as person 1 as we tend to do paperwork in the house. And what kind of picture that makes of modern day Britain as I'm sure in 50s for eg most census would have a male as person 1??
