I don't think Doug Ross was really Clooney's finest role, esp in the early series. Too slimey, whereas Dr Mark Green (always to be referred to as "Dr Mark Green" as a show of respect) was sincere and empathetic.

Doug Ross would chat you up in a bar but you'd always know it was a line.

landrover · 05/03/2011 12:14

Yeh totally agree, clooney bit of a sleazeball, but i am outraged that Jen ( Dr Mark Greens wife) treated him so shit!!!!!

I always loved Dr Green (although am a huge Clooney fan) sobbed my heart out when he died.

I'm currently Sky Plussing the first series of ER on Sky Atlantic, I've only had time to watch the pilot episode I need a day off work and the DC's at school where I can sit all day and have an ER fest.

Do you think they're going to show all the series?

landrover · 05/03/2011 12:24

Heres hoping, how long would it take? I stopped watching it when Dr Green died but recently watched the very last series which had an adorable doctor with red hair who i just Loved!!!

Dr Green appeared in an episode of the last series, I looked forward to that episode much more than the one with Dr Ross in :)

Pterosaur · 05/03/2011 14:34

YABU, but Mark Green was far lovelier than Doug Ross. Was pleased to see the back of Ross.

Pterosaur · 05/03/2011 14:34

I'm so sorry, Dr Mark Green.

eviscerateyourmemory · 05/03/2011 14:36

Im shocked that this thread has got this far with no-one mentioning Dr John Carter Grin

PersonalClown · 05/03/2011 14:38

I'm loving watchin Carter's journey into the lovely doc he became.
I also have the 15 series box set.

Pterosaur · 05/03/2011 14:39

I ended up praying for Carter to leave permanently because I didn't want to see him suffer any more.

Dr Green got off lightly.

It's hardly current, though, Euphemia, it's all been out there for many years.

Have you heard about Professor Dumbledore?

gordyslovesheep · 05/03/2011 16:06

dr green every time - he was wonderful x

Itsjustafleshwound · 05/03/2011 16:12

I agree with you wrt Dr Green?

When did Dr Crane (??) - grizzle guts chief of surgery make an appearance??

Needanewname · 05/03/2011 16:14

Carter hhhhmmmmmmmmmm [dreamy face]

Agree Jen was awful to Dr Green, I would never have treated him like that.

Still love Doug Ross too though.

Can i have all 3 of them please?

Needanewname · 05/03/2011 16:15

Archie wasn't he the red head - total prat initially then you got to see the other side of him and he was adorable, but in a puppy way way not I want to screw his brains out way!!!!

landrover · 05/03/2011 16:18

Euphemia, i wont mention helicopters then!!!!! xx Still the best drama series I have ever seen, apparently there are loads of big stars that were in the series as bit parts throughout so we must look out for them. The one directed by Quentin Tarantino is a must watch too !!
