Oh I loved Carter so much. And the Benton/Corday romance. And anything involving Romano and/or Kerry Weaver.
Surprised we haven't flushed any Luka fans out of the woodwork yet though.

landrover · 05/03/2011 16:44

OOH i forgot luka had a baby with Abby, she was horrible to him and he was such a love!

I am overjoyed that they have started repeating ER from the start just in time for my maternity leave starting Grin

Carter for me all the way!

AliciaFlorrick · 05/03/2011 16:55

Oh I loved Romano, must confess every time I see the actor, is it Paul Crane in anything, I automatically think watch out for the helicopter!

DilysPrice · 05/03/2011 16:56

I think we need a Mumsnet guide to ER to warn sensitive pregnant viewers which episodes to skip if they're not feeling up to plots with dead children/miscarriages etc. I used to use the Television Without Pity recaps for this purpose, but they gave too much away, when all I really wanted to know was "Errm, you might want to give this one a miss".

DuffyMoon · 05/03/2011 17:02

did you see it when Carter and Luka were fencing and it turned into a duel over Abbey....Oh God, one of the most swoonsome things I have ever seen.....fans self....sniffs salts....loosens stays

landrover · 05/03/2011 17:07

Yep "Loves Labour Lost" give it a miss, coming up end of first series xx

I always had a real soft spot for Dr Benton. Thought he was lovely.

Although I have to say, I still can't think of the one where Mark Green went off to Hawaii when he was dying without getting a massive lump in my throat.

slartybartfast · 05/03/2011 17:20

another fan,

lovemydog · 05/03/2011 17:26

I tell people DH looks just like the guy in ER. Reply is usually ' Ooh, I really fancy George Clooney.' I then always have
to say 'no, the other one'. (Dr Green, that is).

Newgolddream · 05/03/2011 17:40

One of my favourite episodes involved Dr Greene, delivering a baby. Involved seomething gory like the baby getting stuck and Mark having to "push it back" up a bit, Im nearly sure it all worked out ok in the end.

AtYourVernalCervix · 05/03/2011 17:43

i love er. and dr mark is my favourityso yanbu.

i'm having a weekly er catchupfest once a week. takes me back.....

alistron1 · 05/03/2011 17:51

I too loved Dr Mark Green. The episode when he died is one of the most moving things I have seen on TV.

I stopped watching shortly before Rocket Romano lost his arm. Wasn't he (the actor) in Fame?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 05/03/2011 17:55

It was my all time favourite drama too, didn't see the first few series' but alas haven't got the time to watch them all as they are screened now, an episode a day is just too much.

It lost its way a bit for a while (after Dr Greene left) but came back strongly the last 2 or 3 seasons. Agree that Archie (the redhead) was obnoxious when he arrived but he really matured. I loved the way they managed to weave back in so many of the old characters in the last series.

I never liked Carter though, too smarmy, always smirking. Luka really was the most compelling reason to watch it in terms of all out swooning.

I could talk for hours about ER.........

TimeWasting · 05/03/2011 18:04

YAsooooNBU, I am loving it.

Yes be careful, Loves Labour Lost nearly destroyed me the other day. Sad

I think I am actually properly in love with Dr. Mark Green.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 05/03/2011 18:34

Forgot to say, I cried buckets when Dr Green died, YANBU.

PersonalClown · 05/03/2011 18:38

I must admit that I breathed an 'At fucking last' when Neela finally twigged that she wanted to be with Ray (Now HE was hot)

I sobbed when he had his accident too.

shimmerysilverglitter · 05/03/2011 18:46

I also have the boxed set and currently working my way through it.

The episode where Mark dies remains my saddest moment in film or tv ever. I thought about it for quite a few days after I watched it.

I watched the first 3 seasons religiously then somehow lost my way, caught a few with Luka and Abby but Neela gets right on my tits so lost a bit of interest when she was in it. Going to persevere though and watch all the seasons.

It is weird though that some the characters who got on my nerves at the beginning when I first watched all those years ago, I absolutely love now, was thinking it shows how much I must have changed over the years. Like I always thought Carter was so wimpy back then but love him now and the journey he is going on to become a great doctor.

Best line is when he says to Benton "I am a good doctor because of you" and Benton says "No you're not". Is Benton saying he is not a good doctor or its not because of him? very clever.

shimmerysilverglitter · 05/03/2011 18:48

Oh and watched the one with Ewan McGregor last night, totally forgot he was in it and Quentin Tarantino directed an episode too.

MissyKLo · 05/03/2011 18:55

No no
Noone beats dr kovak! No sure how it's spelt but that was te Serbian doctor

Hated that they put him with Abbie though - he was way to good for that silly cow!

MissyKLo · 05/03/2011 18:59

The last few series were shit, they were trying to make all the cast 'young' and the whole thing 'younger' and they made it shit

Neela was an annoying shit and so was Abbie and thy little blonde one

My saddest episodes were Mark dying and also when Lucy Knight (ylung doctor) died at the hands of a patient with mental issues who stabbed her - I hated that episode! So sad!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 05/03/2011 19:00

The Ewan McGregor one was the first episode I ever saw, was instantly hooked.

Neela's character was so frustrating, brilliant skills as a Dr/surgeon, absolutely hopeless in her personal life. Her marriage to whatshisname, the soldier, never rang true, but I was so glad she finally saw sense and went with Ray.

shimmerysilverglitter · 05/03/2011 19:03

Neela was just so wet. Could'nt stand her. Everyone falling in love with her every five minutes as well, like she was the most gorgeous thing on two legs Hmm.

Quite liked Abby actually.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 05/03/2011 19:27

I quite liked Abby too, I saw a year or so ago that Maura Tierney had breast cancer, never heard anything further, I had forgotten about that till just now.
