To have *never* cleaned my oven?

I just can't face it. I did actually buy some Mr Muscle oven cleaner but the instructions made it sound so dangerous I shoved it to the back of a cupboard.

When we moved in I loved the almost new and completely spotless range oven in the kitchen - and for a few weeks I would wipe it round after using it. But over time it's got pretty crusty and now I can't see through the glass door anymore.

But the oven cleaner looks so toxic....

Your meant to clean them?

Now considering getting someone in to do it.

Did it once. It was so difficult, so boring and so long that I never bothered again.

and when you've done it, get a PTFE oven liner from Lakeland and in future spills will just wipe off the bottom easily.

Christ your ovens must be filthy

Don't they get all smokey and stinky when you have the oven temp up high?

It doesn't take long. Spray that stuff on, and leave it (I usually leave it overnight tbh) and the muck comes off easily.

Nearly 8 years. Never been cleaned.

Never done inside mine either. Ten years I've had it. It was a second hand oven anyway and I dislike it- it's basically a metal box with a fire in it.

I couldn;t bare a dirty oven glass door, you can do those with brillo pads, if you can't clean the oven which I never do, the least you can do is clean the glass, you don't need anything toxic for that.

I've had my range oven for 4 years....never cleaned it.....it doesn't need it yet;)

My mum has an oven the self cleans, she pushes a button and it heats up really high and burns off all the crap, i would be but i never clean my oven so meh

All ovens self clean (honest) well thats what I tell myself and it keeps me happy!

i cleaned mine about a year ago and ever since it has smoked everytime i use it. i have cleaned it loads of times since and made sure every trace of product is off it but it still smokes really badly. i can't use it for more than half an hour anymore.

never cleaned mine by hand - lived here for 12 years

but does say its a self cleaning oven and maybe once every 5 years (ie twice) i have set it to self clean - tbh doesnt seem to make a difference

Never cleaned mine, and nothing gets spilt on the bottom. I cleaned my old one once, and got rid of it soon after because of the fumes.

We have the oven man twice a year. Best £100 I spend annually.

I get someone in to clean mine. And it is a man, he is lovely and I dont mind paying him to clean it!

Some things in life I have decided it is better to pay for and oven cleaning is definitely one of them.

Can't believe how many people dont clean their ovens! Get someone in if it's that hard. I hate cleaning it too
But a dirty oven is minging so I clean it!

My man is lovely too Jax. We always have a chat about his wife and children. They had been ttc for ages and had a huge age gap between their dc, but have now had a new baby. I often wonder if his wife is a mnetter .

Do you lot not actually cook anything in your ovens?

Or you must be a lot better than I am and manage never to spill anything.

Mind you I cook pizzas straight on top of the shelf thingies so cheese etc gets spilt a lot.

I clean mine about once a week (not always using that Mr Muscle stuff, sometimes it just needs a wipe with soapy water).

excellent, all these people who can't bring themselves to clean their ovens - if I can't get a job after my dcs start school I will be a Professional Oven Cleaner.
I will do your cupboards too for a very reasonable fee - in fact maybe a whole Kitchen Springclean Service would go down well
