YABVU

The kebab shop doesn't open until lunchtime.

ChippingInMistressSteamMop · 02/03/2011 11:57

Dawnyann - 'big fat heffer' charming turn of phrase you have - try substituting fat for black or disabled and see if you still feel happy saying it.

Aerobreaking · 02/03/2011 11:57

gallifrey
In Hastings, 10:47am for lager is positively happy hour Grin
(disclaimer: from there so can bitch about it)

MackerelOfFact · 02/03/2011 11:57

YABU. I wouldn't think twice about it TBH. But now you've made me crave fish and chips. It's 11.57am and I'm sitting at a desk. Is this allowed?

TobyLerone · 02/03/2011 12:01

YABU. I've already eaten my lunch (for breakfast) and I wish so hard that I had fish and chips because I'm still hungry.

privategodfrey · 02/03/2011 12:01

Yeah, cos it's so easy to diet down to being a white person.

Not quite the same IMO. I know that not all overweight people are that way because of eating too much but I think that medically induced obesity is far less common than simply being overweight due to poor lifestyle choices.

LDNmummy · 02/03/2011 12:02

Apparenlty human beings are supposed to eat main meals in the morning and then smaller meals as the day goes on, so we've been doing it backwards and the person you saw is spot on. I eat main meals in the morning, especially left over takeaway vindaloo, yummy Grin

nickelbabe · 02/03/2011 12:12

argh!
it not lunchtime for ages!

ChippingInMistressSteamMop · 02/03/2011 12:12

Dawnyamma - my point exactly! Why is it OK for you to insult an overweight person like that?

coraltoes · 02/03/2011 12:12

um, a lot of people work night shifts, making morning their dinnertime...my doctor friends always eat something savoury (or unsavoury!) late morning before going to sleep before their next late shift.

Mumsnet really does have some of the most narrow minded views i've ever encountered!

Perhaps they had just left a weightwatchers meeting?

AnotherMumOnHere · 02/03/2011 12:13

"Come on Chaos - admit it - you were envious!!!"

Totally agree with this statement ............ and how can someone who uses the word 'rank' talk about anyone else ??

Total jealousy.

Whilst the word 'Heffer' was not a nice one, I really don't think it's right to try to compare fat people to black or disabled people.

Compare them to smokers, alcoholics and drug addicts by all means (only if they're addicted to over eating) but not to black or disabled people.
