With water there more expensive than petrol and popcorn £1 per kernel?

And #judgey it's often the families who can I'll afford it right at the front of the q.

I build up Nectar points, and use it as a bonus I would not normally have! (Annoys people behind me in queue tho as swiping card again and again takes ages) Only go about twice a year tho..

Acanthus · 25/02/2011 14:43

Head cases and fat people maybe, the portions are enormous!

LilQueenie · 25/02/2011 14:44

you could say the same as those who shop in m&s - good quality food...erm no pre packaged crap!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 25/02/2011 14:44

Vercy rich people. It's extortionate!!

babyapplejack · 25/02/2011 14:44
Confused

I get pick and mix - you choose the quantity. I just get the kids a small quantity and they are really happy.

YABU!

FabbyChic · 25/02/2011 14:44

We always buy a large coke and a big bucket of popcorn and share it between the three of us.

cybilliberty · 25/02/2011 14:45

Alternatively you can

a) Go for 2 hours WITHOUT eating

b) Take individually foil wrapped white baps and noisily share along the line of 8 boys you have brought with you

YES YOU LADY. FROM TOY STORY 3

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 14:46

And the mess afterwards. Why do people not take litter with them? You wouldn't leave the theatre or a point to point like that.

We are turning into OBESE Americans with their 4 gallon bucket of 'soda'

Give your guts a rest, people

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 14:49

Yes. Don't eat you fat munters.

Next time I'm going to weigh them in and weigh them out. With a cattle prod for those who resist.

LemonDifficult · 25/02/2011 14:51

Me and DH.

We to the cinema just to eat popcorn and sweets and crap. We love it and it's a total treat.

Huge things of popcorn (DH can't share so we have to get one each) and one of those truly gross enormous drinks and DH sometimes gets ice-cream.

Even as I'm looking at those coke things I'm think 'there's no way that'll fit in my bladder' and I'm right and have to shuffle out of my seat apologising and making a racket.

Well, that's the cinema for you. If you can wait 12 weeks it'll be out on dvd and you won't have to put up with us.

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 14:52

Erghh. How common

OP posts:
NettoSuperstar · 25/02/2011 14:52

YANBU, and they all eat in a piggy, snorty, loud way, as if they haven't had a meal for a month which is annoying for DD and I.

Mind you, perhaps they haven't had a meal for a month, as they've had to save up for the cinema food.

I take in some sweets from Poundland and take DD for a maccas after, which is far cheaper.

cybilliberty · 25/02/2011 14:52

Actually I can TOTALLY see you doing that

I'm just off to the picture house.

Will report back on people who CAN'T STOP EATING

squeaver · 25/02/2011 14:53

YABU

Don't you realise that some people have POPCORN ISSUES and may need treatment for their SLUSHY ADDICTIONS???

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 14:53

I take a g and t in if anything.

OP posts:
NettoSuperstar · 25/02/2011 14:55

Sometimes, also, I tell DD to bugger off, I'm paying for the Cinema, she's not getting snacks too.
(I actually do say thisGrin)

Mainly we stay at home and download films buy DVDs.

cybilliberty · 25/02/2011 14:55

You'd stand at the back with your bloody BBq on the go

fangbanger · 25/02/2011 14:55

I have never understood how they get away with charging so much.

Surely you don't need to eat during a 90 minute film.

anyone that activly choses to spend half a months mortgage repayment on some popcorn and an ice cream deserves to be ripped off iMHO

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 14:56

I think there is a benefit for it.

OP posts:
YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 14:57

But seriously. If anything a nice organic snack. Silently.

ShatnersBassoon · 25/02/2011 14:58

God, those dreadful poor people who spend a few pounds on treating their family to a drink and popcorn in the cinema. They're insane. What's wrong with getting a 50" plasma telly and watching something on that, like the other poor families do?

Is it really that expensive though, compared with a small glass of Coke in a pub, for example?

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 14:58

A few punds? Darling it's a fiver for popcorn.

OP posts:
squeaver · 25/02/2011 14:59

They sweep the popcorn off the floor and put it back in the machines, you know.
