Oh fist shaking is fine.

10 fucking weeks though! That'll be fun for everyone

Hullygully · 11/05/2011 12:56

Jins - did you get the length of service sorted out?

10 weeks! Are they insane?

OP posts:
SpringHeeledJack · 11/05/2011 12:57
Sad

ten weeks

dp got 4 weeks, from "reviewing your position" to "out you go, old fella" and has just finished (as of yesterday).

He went from mild mannered Good Egg type in week 1 to fucking fuming in week 4

however he has managed to milk it and now everyone feels sorry for him and hates management

are you public or private sector, Jins?

...ignore if that's overly impertinent Smile

Jins · 11/05/2011 13:01

4 weeks consultation period then 6 weeks notice period.

I'm private sector - you know the sector where they take plasma from a stone when they run out of blood

Jins · 11/05/2011 13:02

They had me down for a month less service as well. Still the 4 weeks consultation takes me into the next year

Instant Paranoia On Amphetamines, Tragically

nenevomito · 11/05/2011 13:04

well that teaches me for not realising this is an old thread. Sorry folks.

Jins · 11/05/2011 13:04

LOL - no worries babyheave

Always nice to see a new face

SpringHeeledJack · 11/05/2011 13:05

it's rotten, rotten I tell thee

Sad

dp also private sector.

can you do a lot of swanning around? or is there no scope?

Jins · 11/05/2011 13:06

I believe that I am entitled to reasonable time off for job hunting. I'm taking that as a day a week, maybe more

SpringHeeledJack · 11/05/2011 13:08

two at least, surely?

SpringHeeledJack · 11/05/2011 13:08
Jins · 11/05/2011 13:09

two sounds even more reasonable to me

Hullygully · 11/05/2011 14:28

Three. Fact.

OP posts:
Jins · 11/05/2011 14:37

But then there won't be any time free to be off sick!

SpringHeeledJack · 11/05/2011 15:26

Jins how about Fridays/Mondays sick, Tues and Weds jobhunting?

speaking of 'plasma from a stone' have just found out that HR at dp's ex company made twins who'd been working in the same office together for donkey's years apply for one job

Sad

...having twins myself am (possibly) overly sentimental about twins. Not my twins, of course. Just other people's.

Hullygully · 11/05/2011 15:50

What's dp going to do, shj?

And how come you are home-edding "accidentally"?

OP posts:
SpringHeeledJack · 11/05/2011 15:51

hold on- he needs pc to do JSA claim

back in a bit

SpringHeeledJack · 11/05/2011 19:33

there's your answer, I spose

Awww, dp. He is quite insanely optimistic about finding work, but I think his age might count agin 'im. If so, we are stuffed, as I have no transferable skills (shouting only)

he has only been at home for a day, and I find I am going to have to develop some sort of coping strategy (eg this is a person who, while wondering what he would do if he won the lottery- which he doesn't even do- says: "ooh, I would be like Marie Antionette, and dress up as Bo Peep, and have a pretend farm")

(oh, and within 5 minutes of redundancy yesterday evening managed to fill house with shoes and unblock the toilet with his bare hands)

Hullygully · 12/05/2011 10:10

Drugs are the answer. For all of you.

OP posts:
nenevomito · 12/05/2011 10:32

Well I wasn't going to post on this thread again, but what have you got on offer Hully?

Frankly at the moment I will take anything!

Jins · 12/05/2011 10:45

Ooooh I'm liking the shoes thing. I will fill the house with shoes when my redundancy pay comes through.

I don't think drugs are the answer Huls. Revenge is the answer! It is already happening :)

Hullygully · 12/05/2011 10:50

Revenge? De quel sort?

I don't have drugs, baby, the very idea! SHJ will have to get her own. What ails you?

OP posts:
SpringHeeledJack · 12/05/2011 12:36

at least I can get free prescriptions on the NHS now

[smug]

in the meantime will self-medicate with sherry

what revenge, Jins?

[eager]

Jins · 12/05/2011 12:39

I shall hit them where it hurts
