I am getting increasngly perpelexed at the numbers of women, not just young gilrs, but women who walk around at 3pm in their PJ's.

I started seeing it at the school gates and assumed mum was woken late and just rushed to get child to school.
BUt then i would see the same mum collect the child in the afternoon in the same Pj's.

i am now seeing them walking around supermarkets in them.

WTF is wrong with pulling on jeans and a baggy jumper if you can't be arsed to make an effort?

it is disgusting. it can't be hygenic surely?

i saw someone in my sisters road stood outside her house at 2pm having a faaaaaaaaag

i took a sneaky pic and texted it to my sis laughing at how chavvy she was lol

janiesmum · 23/02/2011 18:11

in her PJs by the way

SauvignonBlanche · 23/02/2011 18:11

I never seen it here but - Confession time!

I had to go back to Sainsburys to collect DS and did not want to leave DD as I knew I'd be a bit longer.

Her new PJs have plain cream fleece bottoms so I made her tuck them into her boots and she put a fleece over the top and off we went.

After all that's been said! Blush

Rabat · 23/02/2011 18:13

Ah - Pelton Fell! Yes. It is a small town/village just outside Chester-le-Street.

TragicallyHip · 23/02/2011 18:15

Where are all these people in pjs? I have never seen them out!

Madness if you ask me but each to there own!

TragicallyHip · 23/02/2011 18:16

their

TotalChaos · 23/02/2011 18:28

I assumed the tan pj make up and uggs combo was only opp north, quite excited that its down in London too. Otherwise yabu to particularly care what people are wearing as long as they are covered up

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 23/02/2011 18:28

It's up to people what they want to wear, of course, BUT if they choose to look as if they can't be bothered then they can't complain when people laugh at them or make assumptions that they're lazy.

I think standards have slipped badly. People just don't seem to care anymore what they look like.

I'm a great believer in the old adage that there are no ugly women, only lazy one. I think that's so true.

smoothes Boden dress over knees demurely...

olderandwider · 23/02/2011 18:34

YANBU. It looks awful. I know it's a free country blah blah but I retain my right to be offended by sleep wear worn outside the house (putting out the bins excepted, obviously Wink)

bellavita · 23/02/2011 18:34

See, I just don't care. As long as I look nice then anyone else can do what they like Grin

mitochondria · 23/02/2011 18:36

I saw two women shopping, on Saturday afternoon, wearing babygrows. Pink ones.

I wasn't sure what to think, to be honest.

My four year old said, rather loudly "mummy, why are those ladies dressed up as big babies?"

We don't usually get that sort of thing in Posh North Yorkshire.

(stuck-up smily)

Yukana · 23/02/2011 18:40

Well I guess I'm a dirty lazy bastard then.

I spend most of my days in my pajamas, but that's inside the house. Occasionally I will wear them outside, if it doesn't look like I've walked out of bed and I'm not looking like a total idiot.

Pajamas are more comfortable for me, I hate jeans, I hate belts, I like large baggy clothing. Especially now that I'm pregnant.

I'm fine with this, but I wouldn't consider myself unhygenic - lazy perhaps.

usualsuspect · 23/02/2011 18:41

'i saw someone in my sisters road stood outside her house at 2pm having a faaaaaaaaag'

Was it me?

MyGoatsBeenGot · 23/02/2011 18:45

Its crap, but not as bad as the teenage girls walking about with babies dummies in their mouths.

WTF is that all about? Confused

princessparty · 23/02/2011 18:49

I live in North Yorkshire and have never seen anyone out and about in their PJs

snowcake · 23/02/2011 18:56

rinabean: "I don't see how it's "unhygenic" unless they stink or have some kind of contagious skin disease and you're rubbing them." LOL Grin

yogididabooboo · 23/02/2011 19:00

Yes teenage girls in Pj;s is particularly confusing. especially seeing as most of them have taken the time to spend at least an hour caking as much orange foundation on as they can.
If you have time to put make up on surely you have time to dress?

lionlilac · 23/02/2011 19:05

If I did that everyone would surely think that I escaped from a Sanitorium!

Tiredtrout · 23/02/2011 19:08

I have a confession, I am an outdoor pj wearer. I will come home from a night shift and get my pjs on then do the school run. I will then set the alarm for just before the end of school day and pick them up in my pjs. It saves valuable zzzzzzzzz time

lionlilac · 23/02/2011 19:09

Well you have a good excuse - exception to the rule.

2rebecca · 23/02/2011 19:18

Oh come on, it takes 2 minutes to stick a fleece and pair of tracksters on. Why not do the school run in same clothes as night shift and then change into pjs once home? How long does it really take to change your clothes? The only time removing my clothes takes ages is if I have on a lace up basque, and even that can be removed within 3 minutes.
Is tired trout working as a dominatrix?

ZZZenAgain · 23/02/2011 19:22

teenage girls with dummies in their mouths?!

Waaaaahzzzatabout? OMG I have yet to see that one.

muggglewump · 23/02/2011 19:23

I went to the shop with a coat over my pj top today. I did shove jeans over the bottoms, but only because they were cow print. If they'd be plain I'd have gone in them.
I had fake Uggs on too and bird's nest hairGrin

In my slight defence, I'm not well and feel like shite.

Bogeyface · 23/02/2011 19:24

Dont know about Tiredtrout working as a dominatrix 2rebecca but given that you know how long it takes to get a lace up basque off, I think you must be :o

2rebecca · 23/02/2011 19:42

No, thankfully, don't fancy whipping a load of overweight posh blokes into a frenzy!
I just feel that "it takes me aaages to get changed" is the sort of whine I expect from my teenage kids asked to change out of their uniforms not an adult. Changing doesn't take ages if you get on with it and change into something simple. Going outside in your nightwear in only acceptable if you are a small child being taken to the doctors.
