I am getting increasngly perpelexed at the numbers of women, not just young gilrs, but women who walk around at 3pm in their PJ's.

I started seeing it at the school gates and assumed mum was woken late and just rushed to get child to school.
BUt then i would see the same mum collect the child in the afternoon in the same Pj's.

i am now seeing them walking around supermarkets in them.

WTF is wrong with pulling on jeans and a baggy jumper if you can't be arsed to make an effort?

it is disgusting. it can't be hygenic surely?

How do you know they aren't wearing their day PJs, distinct from the ones they sleep in?

worraliberty · 23/02/2011 16:23

It's a stupid fashion but I don't see how it's unhygenic?

AmazingDisgrace · 23/02/2011 16:23

Don't see the problem really, I personally wouldn't but they're just clothes.

rinabean · 23/02/2011 16:24

unhygenic?

lol

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 23/02/2011 16:24

I just cannot believe that people actually go out of the house, beyond the garden gate anyway, in their PJs'... no matter how many threads there are on MN, I still can't beleive it - in fact, I think I am going to start demanding photos!! Grin

Yogi - start taking photos on your phone and uploading them to your profile - please!

yogididabooboo · 23/02/2011 16:24

who the fuck has day pj's? surely they are more commonly known as "clothes"

why the fuck would you get changed into a different pair of bedwear so that you can leave teh house?

OP posts:
corns12k · 23/02/2011 16:25

why unhygenic? have never seen this at all.

scurryfunge · 23/02/2011 16:25

Why would anyone else's clothing choice affect you?

She is not encouraging you to do it, is she? It is just a "look at me" trend, that's all.

yogididabooboo · 23/02/2011 16:25

Well, you get all sweaty and you shed skin during sleep dont you.

maybe its not unhygenic but its still minging.

OP posts:
DamselInDisguise · 23/02/2011 16:28

perhaps you changed into more bedwear because it is comfortable and you think it has a fetching pattern?

Really, does it matter.

I saw someone in Sainbury's last week in some lovely starred PJs.

nikki1978 · 23/02/2011 16:29

How do you know they are PJs? Maybe there is a fashion at the moment for outfits that look very much like PJs. I keep hearing people say similar to you - there must be a correlation Grin

DooinMeCleanin · 23/02/2011 16:30

I'm in my pj's but I am in too much pain to bed down to put on proper trousers and I am bleaching things and don't want to ruin nice clothes, am I lazy and dirty? (I have clean knickers on if that makes a difference?)

YABU, btw.

And I often change into pj's to clean. My pj's are more often than not jogging bottoms and vets tops/long sleeved tee) I'd rather get bleach on those than on my proper clothes.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 23/02/2011 16:30

yeah, I don't care what other people choose to wear since it doesn't actually affect me in any way.

HelloOutThere · 23/02/2011 16:30

Yes YANBU and it is unhygienic unless they shower in the morning then CHOOSE to get back into pjs to spend the day in them - which would be even more odd!

Are they definitely pyjamas? Modern track suits sometimes look like pyjamas but are not. I have yet to see a mum/dad at school in their pyjamas...I am jealous that I have not yet witnessed this phenomenon.

rinabean · 23/02/2011 16:31

I don't see how it's "unhygenic" unless they stink or have some kind of contagious skin disease and you're rubbing them. It's not like you'll get anything. If they want to wear worn clothes it's their problem, surely?

usualsuspect · 23/02/2011 16:31

Why does it bother you? Its not against the law is it?

I've never seen it myself, they must be pretty cold though?

Do they have underwear underneath - I mean surely you can see everything otherwise? (or are these really thick pjs?)

Bogeyface · 23/02/2011 16:35

I find it odd that people do this out of choice. I wore mine on the school run once but I was only dropping off eldest DS and DD and i didnt get out of the car!

Its certainly not an outfit I would wear to the supermarket, although i have been known to spend all day in them when I am at home :o

But i wouldnt call it disgusting and unhygenic. Getting dressed doesnt automatically mean there is a clean body underneath the clothes does it?

yogididabooboo · 23/02/2011 16:35

it bothers me because i am wearing judgy pants and given myself a wedgy with them.

This isn't just one woman. there seem to be loads of them doing it round here.

It started off as just young girls, it got worse when there was that trend for baby grows for teens.

but these are adult women and tehy are definitly PJ's.

And i would understand if it was someoen in the local shop with a stinking cold or who looked very ill/in pain.

But not happily doing the weekly shop in Tesco surely

GMajor7 · 23/02/2011 16:36

I have not seen these day-jama wearers you speak of.

Bogeyface · 23/02/2011 16:37
