As starkly reminded by recent threads, MN is not the sort of place that I feel very safe, with or without anonymity. I don't expect to be missed, I have often been quite and outspoken bitch on here and haven't exactly made a lot of friends. I am delighted to have met some of the feminists, and will hopefully see them again. But twice in two weeks I've had PMs reminding me of things I've posted about my husband and I'm really upset about it. For me MN has been a quick knee jerk experience, one that captures my mood at any moment. So toodle pip.....about time I did more with the dcs anyway.

I am really aware that this is an attention seeking thread, but I just wanted MN to know that I won't be the only one leaving when apparent heartbreak (not mine) is fodder for someone's 'shit stirring Sunday'.....

If you want to pull someone up on something that you consider they have lied about, or are being a hypocrite about, which is the best way to go about it?

Post in on the boards publicly and people will say "why couldnt you have PM'ed that"...

So a PM gets sent, and the reciever of it then has three options, reply, ignore, or turn it into a public drama like this, and people want to sharpen their pitchforks and have a witch hunt, because they dont know what was said in the PM.

dunno, squeaky, maybe if you think it's critically important and non-MN you report else, or you mutter a bit and hide the thread? It's surely not so important that we all Have To State Our Case all the time and Right Wrongs?

I asked Aloiseg what was in the PMs, since she felt they were harmless. She offered to email me them. I am not a friend of hers, anymore than I am a friend of PP. I "know" them both from MN and from Twitter.

I have also stated that I thought she was wrong on both occasions - posting the thread to Twitter and the PMs to PP.

The only reason I posted again on this thread is that I feel that although she has behaved badly, there have been other incidents of behaviour from other posters that have not been so harshly punished. And because there was a fair amount of discussion over the "malicious and stalkery" content of the PMs.
