As starkly reminded by recent threads, MN is not the sort of place that I feel very safe, with or without anonymity. I don't expect to be missed, I have often been quite and outspoken bitch on here and haven't exactly made a lot of friends. I am delighted to have met some of the feminists, and will hopefully see them again. But twice in two weeks I've had PMs reminding me of things I've posted about my husband and I'm really upset about it. For me MN has been a quick knee jerk experience, one that captures my mood at any moment. So toodle pip.....about time I did more with the dcs anyway.

I am really aware that this is an attention seeking thread, but I just wanted MN to know that I won't be the only one leaving when apparent heartbreak (not mine) is fodder for someone's 'shit stirring Sunday'.....

Maybe because they are so fixed in their own small minded ways that can't understand that normal people are continually growing and evolving and are effected by day to day life.

I especially think if a thread has been deleted it's likely that it was serious and sensitive, to drag that up was especially vindictive. But the poster has to live in her own skin and seems to enjoy being wholly vile to people. I'm not sure I've ever been excited about a thread in which someone is clearly distressed with a family/relationship matter. Now give me a poster that thinks prostitution is great and I'll argue to the hilt, but I wouldn't send them messages.

Hear hear Lougle. No,I'm not stalking you,honest just looking at this thread with disappointment that another well-known poster is having to leave due to the ridiculous actions of others. I would never think to PM a poster to shit-stir or cause upset and am shocked that others think it's o.k to do so. It's just like sending poison pen letters - cowardice by anonymity.
I would say that these people should be 'outed' but they will simply name-change and carry on. Don't know what the answer is.............

To 'out' her will just give her more of an excuse to be foul, I will let MNHQ know. Seems rather silly to start a thread and then not deal with it in the proper manner.

It would also mean people will 'bully' the 'bully' and most of the posters here are really nice women/men.

I remember certain names but just because they have distinctive names & thats what i like about this place,you can be as anonomous as you wish.

I agree, my outlook has changed since joining MN. And a lot of that has to do with advice I have read on these boards. I would hate for my previous posts and inconsistencies to be held up and shown - even in private.

Whether or not it is done on or off board, it is not acceptable.
