To have a pole on my landing?

I do pole dancing and burlesque, have a professional X-Pole which is great as it's portable and I can practice a lot.

I have just moved and my bedroom is too small for it, the only options are dining room or landing, which is huge and an unused space really.

Should I be concerned about what guests think, or to hell with it!?

do guests often be in your landing?

giyadas · 17/02/2011 00:38

Can you slide down from one floor to the other?
If not YABU

BooyFuckingHoo · 17/02/2011 00:39

giyadas liek a fire pole? that would be a great asset to any house Grin

scotsgirl23 · 17/02/2011 00:42

Nope, mine was in my living room for ages, then in the spare room (memories of FIL walking in and seeing it, hehehe)

giyadas · 17/02/2011 00:42

Grin just like that. Or else it's just tacky.

NoDiving · 17/02/2011 00:49

God, the biscuit as a first response? Move along dear.

I'm not remotely ashamed, I'm just thinking about great aunts etc visting and Hmming but i suppose I can take it down.

Now if I could slide downstairs that would be truly amazing, but probably not so good for the DC (4 and 5)

scotsgirl, do you have the xpole? do you do spinning or static?

If you're not ashamed, it's not an issue. But you asked the question.

giyadas · 17/02/2011 00:54

The dc's will soon learn

i remember getting my leg stuck at the bottom of the stairs after sliding down the banisters. i didn't know the wall wasn't straight and narrowed at the bottom. it was AGONY getting pulled out. mum laughed! Blush

Ryuk · 17/02/2011 00:58

If anyone asks and you don't want to tell them what it is, tell them it's something else... maybe part of a mirror stand but the mirror broke?

ThatVikRinA22 · 17/02/2011 01:02

id have it on the landing, not the dining room. ive just had a google at Xpoles...

i dont really see the problem. id use the landing space.

Geocentric · 17/02/2011 01:03

I want a pool on my landing...

giyadas · 17/02/2011 01:06

I want a rockery on mine.

BooyFuckingHoo · 17/02/2011 01:06

i would like a jacuzzi in my ensuite. inafct i would make my ensuite a jacuzzi and give up the shower and toilet!! Grin

BooyFuckingHoo · 17/02/2011 01:07

and i would like to learn how to spell properly Blush

giyadas · 17/02/2011 01:08

And I mean a proper one, not the impromtu one caused by my bathroom wall crumbling Sad

NoDiving · 17/02/2011 01:15

Oh dear giyadas! how did that happen? Damp?

Well I predict if I attempt to put my pole up tonight without having my dad check for joists I could have a rockery and a pole...and possibly a pool if I break through into upstairs neighbours water pipes...

hmm

Mine's sadly disassembled just now (the spare room is now the baby's room and it just didn't seem appropriate in there! But when it was up I tended to use it spinning, found it easier. I think using it spinning is only a problem if you might then have to use a different pole which has to be static.

Geocentric · 17/02/2011 01:28

A rockery, pole AND pool???

giyadas · 17/02/2011 01:31

Was removing the boiler which had a cupboard built around it. Pulled out the boiler taking the cupboard and an alarming amount of the bathroom wall with it. Not too impressed with the bathroom floor either but that's another story Hmm

giyadas · 17/02/2011 01:38

Oh and lovely as the picture you paint is, I think you should maybe wait for your dad. then send him round here when he's done
