and that " oh i love my old t shirt" is no reason to wear one that FAILS TO ABSORB and therefore makes you drip everywhere

this is mainly men.

What is "NAICE" and "wicking"?

Nor sure if you are BU or NBU, nut nice to see you are back, Cod.

dinkystinky · 14/02/2011 11:39

To be honest Cod wicking tops wont help many men at the gym as it'd be like trying to use a sanitary towel to deal with a river - what they really need is to be shrouded in wicking fabric from head to top (thereby helpfully also muffling the manly grunts they emit as they hoick those enormo weights up and down)

Or failing that they should take a few towels and use the buggers between reps

lol at a wick suit

CoteDAzur · 14/02/2011 11:43

Ah, I see. Wicking shirts look thick. I definitely wouldn't wear one for running.

LaBellaSantaCaterinadiSiena · 14/02/2011 11:43

It is because there is a fear of "all the gear and no idea" amongst menfolk. To look 'serious' in the gym you need you wear your oldest, scraggiest kit.

This is a fact

Rannaldini · 14/02/2011 11:47

I'd like wicking headgear for baby today as she won't stop crying with the teefs

stop showing off that you go to the gym

FluffyMummy123 · 14/02/2011 11:49

lol at baby
walk around with her on your shoulder

put tv on with subbies

tell her all your deepest thoughts and fears

she will doze off

gavel

i will nod off if I speak my thoughts and fears

or die of boredom

dinkystinky · 14/02/2011 13:21

Have just been to the gym

would like to add to my earlier post

Men - if you insist on wearing old t-shirts please ensure you WASH them on a HOT WASH between wears. You smell like the back end of a tramp when you work out if you dont.

Ugh.

Flisspaps · 14/02/2011 13:24

DH has had to stop wearing a wicking top to do sports as every time he wears it he comes home with the most horrendous hives ALL OVER his body. Yes, including down there Shock

FluffyMummy123 · 14/02/2011 13:24

men

DO wear sports socks

not beige ones

I saw this thread and thought iCod will pop up to give the definitive verdict Grin

TheVisitor · 14/02/2011 13:49

Only problem is, you end up looking at things you really don't want to. Grin Sweaty bum cleavages are not nice.

TrillianAstra · 14/02/2011 13:52

I think some wear t-shirts precisely so there is a visible 'look at me I am so manly and sweaty' patch.

Never know much drippage to happen though. Maybe they don't work hard enough.

LessNarkyPuffin · 14/02/2011 13:53

There should be a minimum coverage requirement.

TrillianAstra · 14/02/2011 13:53

Mixed boy/girl gyms much more entertaining, you get to see the girls with their fake eyelashes and their showoffy boyfriends.

dinkystinky · 14/02/2011 15:29

I used to go to an all girl gym but got freaked out by the ladies that used to run the place - v scary stepford wives the lot of them.

At least the staff at the mixed sex gym I go to are nice. Agree re the fake eyelash and hulk boyfriend brigade - v funny.

TeiTetua · 14/02/2011 15:44

I think people who can't get on with their own exercises and ignore everyone else are a right pain in the arse, but then I'm often BU.

FluffyMummy123 · 14/02/2011 15:44

lol
fair point
but if you are eyeing up a machine but keith from accounts is on it and DERIPPING everywhere

ew

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 14/02/2011 15:55

Wicking isn't about absorbing - it's about moving the moisture away from the body. It makes no difference to how much you drip. T shirts aren't meant to absorb sweat.

Gyms should be sweaty.

namechange100 · 14/02/2011 16:14

and and and men should keep out of the jacuzzi as they just sit there and leer at the people in pool - they are always fat old hairy ones too KEEP OUT let some other people in
