I love Katharine Hepburn. But christ I can't bear John Wayne or westerns.

That Mayan film was seriously gruesome but was actually a really good film. Not being up on Mayan history I didn't notice the inaccuracies. But then The Tudors is my current favourite programme so anything goes so long as JRM is in it!

When I was a kid everyone was a bit John Wayne obsessed. We all said 'Get off your horse and drink your milk' in a John Wayne style but I don't know what it meant.

I can understand the lack of blood a bit cornsilk.

His bits were cut off first and entrails wrenched out and burnt. We didn't see that though sadly and the quartering would have happened after the wank-fest which was Mel Gibson seeing his lost love wandering through the crowd.

Indeed, The Patriot, laugh out loud ridiculous and exceedingly bad. Though annoyingly watchable . Apparently the French loathe it because it utterly downplays their contribution to the American War of Independence!

What a shame they cut that bit out.

2012 is still on and it is so dull that I can't think of anything to say about it.

The Patriot was namechecked in The Big C last week by th main character (a teacher) as only about 20% accurate, but if watched, would still make the viewer more informed that 95% of Americans about their Revolution.

2012 has the worst closing line of a movie OF ALL TIME.
