It is so wanky that even though they (sort of) rebuilt the lovely ruined castle near us and used it in the film and set fire to it (which caused great excitement in the town), I cannot bring myself to watch it, even to see the castle.

He does look stinky, but I gather they were rather stinky back then. All that running about and no indoor plumbing...

My kids favourite films are Die Hard, Braveheart and Starship Troopers.

Yes it's historically inaccurate. Yes it could be seen as English bashing but being opressed by the English is a fairly major part of Scottish history...

Have gone off Mel Gibson in recent years (cough) but he does a pretty good Scottish accent and looked very pretty in a scabby old kilt imo.

The worst film ever (with Tomb Raider a close second)

Tonbraider was pants but it did havE Daniel Craig (ok, with a dodgy American accent) and that shower scene! Ian Glen was quite a sexy villain as well.

Tonbraider - or Tomb Raider even - shouldn't have had that extra glass of wine at lunch!

300 - utter rubbish. Dh and I switched it off after the 700th slo-mo shot of battle....

I am not against a good battle (enjoyed LOTR etc) but there has to be a story line OTHER than the battle IMHO.

Apart from the fact that it is all a load of fictional bollocks touted as being true historical fact.

Then there is the controversy of Mel Gibson filming it in Ireland because he didn't want to film in Scotland .

Oh and then there is the main fact that Mel Gibson is a complete KNOB!

I love line from a book which said adding Gromit would make this film historically more accurate.DP loves as he is Scottish and anything that includes bashing the English. Prefer Mad Max
