Is 32 too young for botox?

I'm interested. I have a friend who has told me she has botox. She is beautiful and only 30-32.
I have noticed since I had my 3 rd baby a few months ago that my nose to mouth lines are more noticeable...it bothers me and since speaking to friend am considering going to the clinic with her.
My mum and other friends think it's ridiculous to start on this path so young a la Jordan, and have changed their opinion on friend since hearing she has botox/facial peels etc
Is it unreasonable to consider cosmetic procedures this young/at all?

I know what you're saying af,if i'd have taken onboard much of my childhood experiences,I would also be a child abusing(mentally and physically)abusing no-mark...my mum was the only constant in my life,a much respected Headteacher that married 2 abusive tossers (not at the same time!)but I respect her opinion. She believes you should alweays try and look the best you can, excercise, dress well, have a beauty regime. She instilled this in me.
In my teenage years I bucked against this, but some off it obviously stuck subconciously.
I don't think it's wrong to want to look your best.
Blacksawn I know l'oreal anti-aging cream,as advertised by andi mcdowell,is shite.
Liz earle is good.

My colleague had it at 24 to stop her hands sweating excessively.

I like lines on faces though - they tell you something about the person.

I am seriously considering botox. I am 32.

I don't think I look old or haggared or anything, however I spend about 50 hours a week squinting at spreadsheets etc, and it has had an effect on (a) my eyesight, which gets worse every year and (b) my forehead. I pretty much frown constantly, either from squinting or concentration. It almost seems nowadays that my default facial position is frown, which does make me seem rather hatchet of face.

I caught sight of my forehead in the rear view mirror in blazing sunshine, I have pronounced wrinkles on my forehead. Funnily enough no crows feet, mind you I find crows feet attractive (love my DP layghter lines round his eyes for instance).

So - I am considerin botox in order to bloody weel stop my constant frowning, and the wrinkle reduction to be a secondary benefit, so to speak. The same as I am considering laser eye surgery in order to stop drying my damn eyes out with contacts.

I don't think this is excessive vanity coming into play, or an unintelligent and shallow response.

Haggared?

Haggard?

Haggered?

How the fuck do you spell that then?

hellymelly · 09/02/2011 23:26

Getorf you are WAAAYYY too clever for botox.

GetOrfMoiLand · 09/02/2011 23:29

Not too clever for botox - look at distinct lack of spelling skills Grin

Mumcentreplus · 10/02/2011 00:03

Haggard love...and yes you are too clever and country for botox Grin

Mumcentreplus · 10/02/2011 00:05

I can imagine ...'Yeah my face looks like the M25'...'now 'GetOrfMoiLand!!' Grin

I'm booking my botox appointment today, I'm 41 and I have unpleasant fatty wrinkles between my eyebrows.

I want enough to get the forehead lift effect which in turn opens up the eyes.

Not too sure what to do about the saggy jowls though, facelift at 45 makes you look 50 at 60, apparently.

AnyFucker · 10/02/2011 18:56

Al, get rid of the big hair first....very ageing Grin

Alouiseg · 10/02/2011 19:08

Ha ha, its not that big but its very thick and there is a lot of it...and actually i rather like my hair. Remember i do live in Essex and need to fit in [purchases Vajazzle]

maddy68 · 10/02/2011 19:10

I have had botox several times and its fab.

Make sure you go to a regulated clinic to have it done and they are licenced to use Restylane (if they are licensed to use that then they are more than qualified to use botox.
Done properly you do not look like a barbie doll, I still have expression, BUT my wrinkles are not so obvious

Alouiseg · 10/02/2011 20:05

I am going to lovely lady doctor who has a fab clinic and does everything.

cant wait

Alouiseg · 10/02/2011 20:06

This is where im going

AnyFucker · 10/02/2011 20:15

why does the fact that she is a "lady" doctor make a difference ?

is she, in fact Florence or Emily ? Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 10/02/2011 20:17

Oh your lady doctor sounds a lot better than the hairdresser nurse in Cheltenham I was looking at.

lol at 'lady doctor'

I have visions of Penelope Keith.

AnyFucker · 10/02/2011 20:18

I bet she has a very large baby with a moustache, in a Silver Cross pram

traceybath · 10/02/2011 20:23

Oh I've had a little botox on my frown lines and am 38.

I can still move my forehead but its just made me look a lot less tired.

I'm pleased with the results and won't be having any other stuff done - just little top-ups in my frown lines.

I think its easy to be dismissive of botox etc if you'ved aged well - however if you haven't and you can do something small to make you feel better - well I don't have a problem with that.

charitygirl · 10/02/2011 20:23

Get a grip.

Also please consider - when you stare at your still face for hours in the mirror you are not seeing what others see. They (presumably) see you talking, laughing, grimacing, eating etc. At that point, no one can see the lines that might settle when your face is at rest.

But, mainly, get a grip.

GetOrfMoiLand · 10/02/2011 20:25

Believe me, I see what I look like whislt talking (the fucking wonders of video conferencing for hours a week).

I look like a miserable awld trout.

LadyBiscuit · 10/02/2011 20:25

How do frown lines make you look tired? This is a genuine question - bags under eyes I can understand but frown lines?

Perhaps I'm blessed with an unusually sunny countenance :o

Alouiseg · 10/02/2011 20:25

I think her real name is Ljudmilla or something similar, she is very important in the world of aesthetics and trains and lectures lots of other Doctors.

She makes me feel inadequate as we are the same age, but thats a good quality to have in a Dr. Wink

AnyFucker · 10/02/2011 20:27

but does her baby have a 'tache ?

Alouiseg · 10/02/2011 20:27

Frown lines in between the eyes make you look as if you are permanently scowling or screwing up your eyes as if you are tired.
