Is 32 too young for botox?

AngryBeaver · 09/02/2011 20:10

I'm interested. I have a friend who has told me she has botox. She is beautiful and only 30-32.
I have noticed since I had my 3 rd baby a few months ago that my nose to mouth lines are more noticeable...it bothers me and since speaking to friend am considering going to the clinic with her.
My mum and other friends think it's ridiculous to start on this path so young a la Jordan, and have changed their opinion on friend since hearing she has botox/facial peels etc
Is it unreasonable to consider cosmetic procedures this young/at all?

No,I wouldn't want to look like a barbie, but her skin looks nice.I don't believe it will look like that when she's 70.The skin will still sag. Have you seen Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne recentley? They look amazing!
The babrie woman on beauty and the beast is an awful woman who is inflicting her warped view of 'beauty. on her teenage daughter and step-daughter.She administers botox injections to them both and they're about 16!

I would like to agree with you AF but having had it it really does cause a minimal change.Obviously if you are haggard everywhere and have a smooth brow then no.But I had a couple of deep forehead lines and no other lines on my face or neck so tbh I looked odder before! As my forehead according to the doc was about 15 yrs older than the rest of me.The lines have now faded and I just don't look as tired.

LadyBiscuit · 09/02/2011 20:39

My skin looks nice and I'm 46. Get a fucking grip

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:39

AB...I've seen airbrushed pics of the Osbourne women recently, yes

do you know them in RL ?

because I can guarantee they don't look like that in reality

well, why not start at 16 following some people's logic on this thread ?

I mean, bearing in mind your skin is at its very best @ birth, perhaps we should be botoxing our babies to prevent the inevitable decline of such perfection ?

I mean...where do you draw the line ?

noddyholder · 09/02/2011 20:39

who are you talking to?

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:40

well, you don't have to agree with me, NH

when are you having your next bout ?

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:41

me NH ? my previous post was to the OP, where she mentions the Osbourne women

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:41

it said AB at the beginning of it

CaveMum · 09/02/2011 20:42

AnyFucker I highly recommend reading "Reconstructing Warriors" which is about the origins and development of plastic surgery and The Guinea Pig Club.

The Guinea Pig Club were a group of RAF aircrew who suffered severe burns/disfigurements during WWII.

I don't know.My lines were dynamic and caused by squiting for many years of not wearing my glasses.I think once I am 'trained' to stop frowning like that I won't bother with it.I think the frozen look is awful and my lines got deeper v suddenly while the rest of my face stayed very smooth.I think you have it when you feel the need I suppose.

FabbyChic · 09/02/2011 20:43

Depends how old the 32 year old looks. My sister at 32 looked 40 so for her she wasn't too young.

noddyholder · 09/02/2011 20:43

No I meant ladybiscuit get a fucking grip is a bit strong for people you don't know from adam Not you AF x

Mumcentreplus · 09/02/2011 20:44

ok..poisoning yourself so you have that deer in head-lights shiny-arse face ...yeah I would recommen that shit at 32... NOT...

Its actually quite sad because everyone knows when you have done it...it does not look natural at all

CaveMum · 09/02/2011 20:44

Oops! Trying again:

Book here

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:45

so you "train" your muscles by artificially paralysing them ?

interesting

Minione · 09/02/2011 20:46

A good friend of mine had botox last year, she was 31 at the time. SHe didn't need it and tbh didn't look any diffferent after (perhaps a little smoother?). I think its abit sad, she's absolutley gorgsous, always has been but I never thought she was vain as such. She seems to have a list of what she'd like next Hmm

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 09/02/2011 20:46

Noddyholder-I'm in exactly your position, my forehead looks 35 but I'm really baby faced with otherwise good skin, but got forehead line from squinting

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:47

oh, ok, NH, I keep x-posting with you

I can agree to disagree, no swearing here from me

I just think it's a shame that women can't be happy with how they are

it's a slippery slope, IMO

AngryBeaver · 09/02/2011 20:47

ladyof thehousespeaking,That's what I was wondering.
I'm not lined anywhere alse, eyes are fine, but the nose to mouth lines just appear more noticeable in a certain light.I wondered if it would be better to do something now rather than wait for it to get worse.I'm not sure about fillers though. And the leaking Dad and botox absorbed into the brain is, erm,off putting!
Unfortunately,I'm very aware of how I look.
I wish I was confident, but I'm not.I've spent my whole llife worrying about my weight/hair/skin/nose etc and I know it will never get better.
I had a breast enlargement before I got married,at 25 and felt better for a while,but it didn't last.

Minione · 09/02/2011 20:47

Shit, what the fuck happened to my spelling in that last post!

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:48

CM ...interesting book

noddyholder · 09/02/2011 20:48

It stops you constantly moving your forehead which I was doing forever! They are not paralysed unless you use loads of it My forehead still can move just not as much Grin It is not for everyone but it has worked for me.No one noticed not even my mum!But people keep saying I look well

Mumcentreplus · 09/02/2011 20:50

AB nothing you do will last until you come to terms with the amazing woman you ARE...no mount of surgery can give you that feeling..yes everyone has dodgy days..I mean FFS my belly looks like a tiger bread but I know I'm attractive and a decent person...thats what really matters love x

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:50

I had a breast enlargement before I got married,at 25 and felt better for a while,but it didn't last

AB his is why you should think very carefully about having things done to you

and why I feel it is such a slippery slope

if self-esteem is your problem, no amount of botox, fillers, surgery etc will make you feel better about yourself

stop and think about that

noddyholder · 09/02/2011 20:52

BTW I was happy as I was! I went with a friend (younger) who is v lined from the sun and smoking. She is 39.I went as a support really. The consultant told her it wouldn't really work for that level of damage. He looked at me and said it was for lines like mine not v deep and caused by repeated movement.I decided to try it amd may never go back for it.It has stopped my migraines though
