Is 32 too young for botox?

AngryBeaver · 09/02/2011 20:10

I'm interested. I have a friend who has told me she has botox. She is beautiful and only 30-32.
I have noticed since I had my 3 rd baby a few months ago that my nose to mouth lines are more noticeable...it bothers me and since speaking to friend am considering going to the clinic with her.
My mum and other friends think it's ridiculous to start on this path so young a la Jordan, and have changed their opinion on friend since hearing she has botox/facial peels etc
Is it unreasonable to consider cosmetic procedures this young/at all?

I'm all for cosmetic surgery, but I'd never fuck around with Botox, Restylane or a face-lift. You end up looking really weird.

expatinscotland · 09/02/2011 20:53

'She is beautiful and only 30-32.'

On the outside, perhaps.

Minione · 09/02/2011 20:53

Well said, AF. I think this is the case with my friend.

Mumcentreplus · 09/02/2011 20:54

Major issues mate..

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 09/02/2011 20:54

Angrybeaver- with what you've said about the self confidence etc I would be very very wary about going for it, I think you should look into a chemical peel (but obs do your research) and start going for some regular facials- the diamond one is really really good.

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 20:55

gosh NH, that consultant did a number on you there

captive audience, eh ?

how much did that line his pockets set you back ?

LadyBiscuit · 09/02/2011 20:55

I think it's unbelievably sad to want botox at the age of 32 is all. And yes I think the OP should get a fucking grip. She's probably less than 1/2 way through her natural life, is more than likely at her peak of attractiveness and she wants to have cosmetic surgery.

What's she going to feel like when she's your age NH?

AngryBeaver · 09/02/2011 20:57

AF, no I don't know them personally, thankfully! However,I do work in the media, and have seen 'raw' pictures of them before they're touched up for print..and they really really DO look great.LOADS of them do.
I would rather look like a younger old person, iykwim.
I also think some people are blessed with good genes..I'm not.My Gran, and Mum are both quite lined and I can't stop looking at them sometimed thinking, aaargh, that's going to be me!

You are 32 so no you don't need Botox/fillers. It doesn't make you look young, it makes you look fake. Look at Kylie and co who have overdone it. They don't look 25, they look like a 45 year old who has had Botox.

Given what you have said about your body issues and dissatisfaction from your breat enlargement I think you should seek some counselling.

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 09/02/2011 20:58

Noddy- I'm really happy and confident too, it depends how affluent I am in 8 years time really whether I get Botox or a fringe cut in! Grin

noddyholder · 09/02/2011 20:58

He didn't at all I was always considering trying it.He made v little out of me because i had so little. He could have made a fortune out of my friend.I have no desire to look young I don't think I do look young. When she is my age god knows as at 30 I don't think I ever thought about botox didn't know about it BUT the 2 lines I have I had them then too.

AngryBeaver · 09/02/2011 21:04

expat..I have to say,no,she is beautiful outside and in,as cheesy as that sounds.A really kind and genuine person, not a bad word to say about anyone.
Yes,I know I have issues re body confidence, and am aware it may be a slippery slope.I might try it though,it's not permanant.

I think botox looks horrible.I think it is nuts actually.People think they look good because they look at their static face in the mirror, where it looks great. They don't see themselves chatting/laughing etc, when they look about 5,000 years older and as though waiting for someone to break a spell whereupon they will shrivel and whither before your eyes and end up as a small blackened shell on the floor.

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 21:06

helly...interesting visual here Smile

AngryBeaver · 09/02/2011 21:07

lilb i think although kylie has overdone it,(can her eyebrows get any higher) I don't think she looks anywhere near her age.
And the one off desperate housewives with the red hair? Her forehead is crazily smooth and shiny..I wouldn't want that look. There's a middle ground as some say

My friend who is in her early 30s announced she wants a boob job and botox. She used to be a lot heavier and although she's lost so much weight, still has self esteem issues. No amount of surgery will fix that.

AnyFucker · 09/02/2011 21:15

AB...you are forgetting that once you start along this route, you stop having a true idea of what you look like

what you see in the mirror no longer accurately reflects you mentally

you don't start one day botox-free and then the next day Bride of Wildenstein

it happens by degrees...you need more and more to get your "fix"

before you know it you look like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=img.perezhilton.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mx0032922__opt.jpg&imgrefurl=perezhilton.com/2008-03-13-headline-of-the-week-weak-99&h=561&w=410&sz=42&tbnid=1SbLXax4IY2SjM:&tbnh=263&tbnw=192&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbad%2Bbotox&zoom=1&q=bad+botox&hl=en-GB&usg=__9KAT-6DxGs43EpymnGI9cAGxaEM=&sa=X&ei=wwNTTaSMFoiAhAeh_fCjCQ&ved=0CBkQ9QEwAA" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this

At 32 you really don't need to put one of the most toxic poisons known to man in your face. Just keep using the factor 25, eat well do a bit a exercise and you'll keep the worst ravages of time at bay. I'm quite disturbed by this need we have to look like images of woman who have been airbrushed to an inch of their lives.

AngryBeaver · 09/02/2011 21:23

oh.my.god....she could easily be 60 in that photo. And yet, some people look really good

OP posts:
noddyholder · 09/02/2011 21:25

If you are unhappy with how you look then if you have any sot of addictive nature and low Se you could get hooked as it is not going to fix the real issue. For someone like me it is different as I don't really give a monkeys I never have it again.I would never do fillers or surgery etc.I am not bothered enough this was something I just felt like trying but I have seen quite a few mnetters since I had it and none noticed.I look the same less knackered and no more or less critical of myself. You are too young though and if something as major as a boob job didn't do it botox definitely won't.Your friend may have amazing skin anyway it is my one redeeming feature and it was as nice before as after.Just smoothed the frown. For glowy skin creams are your friend and lots of water

LilBB · 09/02/2011 21:27

She doesn't look any age. No one has a face with no wrinkles. I'm 24 and when I laugh, smile, frown, talk I have lines, some are starting to show when I'm not doing any of those things. It's normal to get lines on your face it's not normal to look like you belong in Madame tussauds.

Mumcentreplus · 09/02/2011 21:30

Bluddy hell thats a face only a plastic surgeon could love
