I think it there should be a massive tax of all dog owners which would fund the daily cleaning of the streets of those dog owners who won't pick up after their dogs.

For a few years there'd be a load of stray dogs but eventually only real dog lovers would find the money to have a dog and the rest of us could enjoy this crowded country without spending up to an hour a week cleaning dog crap off our shoes, buggies etc.

Obviously that won't happen but it would be nice if I didn't spend so many hours a year clearing crap off my property because someone else has to have an ickle doggie woggie.

Drives me insane, as there's nothing worse than getting dog poo in the pram wheels when i'm walking with my baby and dog.
But it's the bloomin owners not the dog. I have a poobag holder attached to my dogs lead so i can never take the dog out without them, some people just don't care enough about the people around them or are ridiculously lazy. It takes about 20 seconds to pick up your dogs poo.

I agree, I have a v responsible dog owning friend whose dog had a massive runny poo on the walk to school recently, with the best will in the world no one's picking that up.

Also I know other good owners who have lazy good for nothing teenagers who walk the family dog regularly and NO WAY are they going to pick up steaming piles of poo.

A massive dog tax would deter the feckless lazy eejits who let their dogs cover my whole locale with dog shite. I think having a dog should be deterred massively because general ownership has proved too destructive of our society and many lives (toddler maulings etc) to be justified.

Dogs for the blind - yes.
Search and rescue dogs - yes.
Dogs on farms and sheep dogs - yes.
Working dogs - yes.
Dogs who stay in your house and look like ickle toys and never go out in public - yes.

I pick up after my dog. He in turn cleans up all the dropped food by the bus stop when I pick up my DD (a lot of schoolkids use the stop).
