Pumpster · 26/01/2011 22:48

Will they be helium balloons?

Limara · 26/01/2011 22:49

Appletrees - cant open your link?

Chocolocolate · 26/01/2011 22:49

My DH thinks your dress is amazing!

I think it's a brave choice and I'm sure it's the perfect choice for you.

I do have to ask the same question as others though - what happens if the balloons pop?

ensure · 26/01/2011 22:49

The only problem if you avoid the traditional white dress is that you run the risk of 2 or 3 friends turning up in something very similar. I bought a dress very like that one to wear to my sister's wedding in February.

ShortandCurly · 26/01/2011 22:50

Oh but I will look hot in it trinity!

Dylthan · 26/01/2011 22:51

It was not it was beautiful and classy. I think you are just worried that the bridesmaids would upstage you in it.

Well I'm off to bed now hopefully someone else can help although I doubt it if you don't like green frogs then you won't like anything.

Limara · 26/01/2011 22:52

ensure, good point, imagine the fiasco and imagine the retaliation, you'd be left stark naked at the end! Grin

rosieposey · 26/01/2011 22:52

If you have already paid for it i can't really see those balloons staying up until your chosen day personally (get your money back or get some longer life balloons Grin)

ShortandCurly · 26/01/2011 22:53

I'm still worrying about the dance where our guest have to pin money on us. I'm thinking of giving everyone a prick stick to use instead or maybe selotape would be better.

Hi Short and Curly !

I really hope you will have a wonderful day.

So, with that in mind, some thoughts from me ...

I think it could be really fun for the first dance, and a great idea that your DH could pop some of them.

But I'm a bit concerned about the idea of you wearing it for the whole day - as balloons pop quite easily - especially when they are sat on !

Could you not choose a more traditional dress for the day and ceremony ( I'm sure you could get many beautiful and interesting dresses at a more modest cost ), and then blow them away with this in the evening Grin

It's O.K if you wear the more expensive dress for the shorter time - it's the idea and impact that counts Grin

Have a great day whatever you wear !

Love, jo

junkcollector · 26/01/2011 22:54

Lol Ensure.

Fab dress.

You should fill the balloons with helium. That'd be brilliant for the first dance. Your new DH could shoot the balloons one by one so you float gently down from the ceiling onto the dance floor.

fragglerocks · 26/01/2011 22:55

LOVE YOUR DRESS!!!

ShortandCurly · 26/01/2011 22:56

Oh junk that is a fab idea, maybe I could float in from across the other side of the room. I must ask my wedding planner about that.

OP posts:
Limara · 26/01/2011 22:57

Wedding planner LOL again !!! Stop it! Grin

ShortandCurly · 26/01/2011 22:59

Wedding planners are the norm these days you know

OP posts:
junkcollector · 26/01/2011 23:00

Yeah, your bridesmaids could pull you in on a (silken) rope.

Morloth · 26/01/2011 23:01

If this thread is serious then I don't think you should wear it.

The sort of woman who would wear that dress isn't the sort who gives a fuck what anyone else thinks about her/it. She thinks 'Fuck, that is a fantastic dress, I am wearing that' and it looks great because it is her wearing it.

If you are going to feel awkward and care what other people are thinking and in that people are going to be thinking WEIRD, then don't wear it because you are going to look awkward and strange.

The fleece dress upthread was awesome.

ShortandCurly · 26/01/2011 23:02

Well now you're just being silly junk
