I think you should wear whatever you want, and ignore what anyone else says - it's your wedding. Personally I would be a bit worried about the balloons popping at inappropriate moments - but maybe that's all part of the fun.

I am getting married for the fourth time therefore I need to wear a dress made of green balloons.
