Sorry folks for being trollish and getting into bunfights

Are these things forgiven? Can an OP like me move on from troll like behaviour?!

Got a new approach and thinking about a new name to go with it Smile

AIBU to think that bygones can be bygones?!

HecateQueenOfWitches · 21/01/2011 17:56

are you a troll? Someone who likes to annoy and upset people and will say anything that they think will wind people up? Or do you just find yourself getting into fights when expressing your actual opinion?

RamonaFlowers · 21/01/2011 17:56

Depends. Name you Troll Sins.

GypsyMoth · 21/01/2011 17:57

if you know you are guilty of trollery, then why did you do it??

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 21/01/2011 17:59

Always found trolls pretty pointless tbh, but yeah, roll with whatever Wink

Spidermama · 21/01/2011 18:00

You might find that people won't remember you and therefore won't tar you anyway. I don't recognise the name.

I know when I have said something silly or been flamed on MN I have felt a bit embarrassed and conspicuous for a while, but actually I don't think many people notice or remember.

It's a big site.

If you'd feel more comfortable name changing then go ahea. This thread only serves to make you more conspicuous doesn't it?

wizardora · 21/01/2011 18:00

NOOOOO! YAN VV U! I think you're great x

Alouiseg · 21/01/2011 18:02

No! I agreed with you on the smoking one. Lots of people start on here all guns blazing, the forum soon wears you down. You'll be a tolerant, lentil weaver before you realise. It's a form of brainwashing :o

GMajor7 · 21/01/2011 18:04

Erm...I have found you quite entertaining actually! Posters like you are one of the reasons I prefer MN to other 'Parenting' forums Wink

wizardora · 21/01/2011 18:05

Alouiseg - absolutely.

Msklo - they are your views, don't be bashed into submission Grin

MsKLo · 21/01/2011 18:06

I don't think I am a troll but some do! I have been in some heated bunfights! I have strong opinions. I have though, been quite 'oh fuck off' etc to a few people and coul have responses better! Its easy to get carted away on here and especially respond to people who annoy you but there are better ways to do it!

Thanks Wizadora! You are a star! Grin

TheSkiingGardener · 21/01/2011 18:07

To be fair you have mildly irritated me. But then that means I know who you are and remember you. Grin

You're developing an individual persona, get on with it!

JamieLeeCurtis · 21/01/2011 18:08

Define trollish

Do you say things you don't really mean, for a fight?

Do you say things you feel, but in such a way that hasn't considered the other person's feelings

Are you rude?

Do you make whole scenarios up?

FWIW I do recognise your name - a thread (can't remember which) that wound lots of people up. But then I've seen you be pretty reasonable. Personally, I don't like people who deliberately wind people up, so I avoid them

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 21/01/2011 18:11

I agree with TSG Grin

I also find you quite 'variable' some days you seem quite normal and some days seem out to state black is white Grin

If you have been deliberately upsetting people then maybe change your name and resolve to be a nicer person Grin

If you are just being you, then damn well get on with it and sod the lot of us them!

Oh and whichever you choose - there's nothing wrong with being quite 'Oh fuck off' it's a healthy attitude on here to have.

Spidermama · 21/01/2011 18:11

I have never come across you before but have to admit that I am always deeply irritated by 'come-and-talk-to-me-all-about-ME' threads.

MsKLo · 21/01/2011 18:11

No JamieLee I never do any of those things

The only thing I have done that I dont like is been a bit sweary and defended myself in a way that could be seen as getting people's backs up!

OP posts:
JamieLeeCurtis · 21/01/2011 18:13

I respect people who have robust views on things. As long as they listen to other people

chipping, touch of the yodas there!

EveryonesJealousOfGingers · 21/01/2011 18:15

TBH I have seen you being very rude on various threads OP, but YANBU to think bygones can be bygones :)

Alouiseg · 21/01/2011 18:18

One of the best things about mumsnet is being able to argue debate with a poster on one thread and agree with them completely on another.

JamieLeeCurtis · 21/01/2011 18:19

The force is strong with her, Mimi

MsKLo · 21/01/2011 18:21

Yep have been ruder than necessary but not been the only one!

Lack of sleep is my excuse Wink

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 21/01/2011 18:22

To be honest think you may have been at bit wanky on some bf/ff threads but at least you haven't been alone Grin

JamieLeeCurtis · 21/01/2011 18:23

You aren't really sorry at all, are you?

HecateQueenOfWitches · 21/01/2011 18:27

I think you can only be who you are.

If you are a fighty person with strong opinions and the tendancy to shout down those who disagree with you - then that's who you are. Be loud and proud.

Changing your name and trying to hide who you truly are is pointless. People will either like who you really are or they'll hate you. That's up to them. But if you pretend to be someone you're not, to try to become popular - it's meaningless because you won't be liked, only who you are pretending to be.
