Horrid old bigots, say I.

Fried, it is that sort of idiotic viewpoint that causes so much trouble. How did it go? Something like... "Black people are too stupid/dirty/dangerous to be around white people" oh yes and "woman are too weak/stupid/pathetic to have a job like men? ideas born of intolerance and ignorance just like your post.

Unless you ust want to inflame of course?

narkypuffin · 18/01/2011 22:39

Ah. That explains it Friedtoacrisp is a frustrated dogger.

troisgarcons · 18/01/2011 22:39

I couldn't care less if you are straight, gay, bi blah blah blah

BUT I do care if you shove it in my face - if you want to shove a plastic bag over your head and an orange up your arse whilst screaming - fine by me so long as you have the decorum NOT to discuss your sexual inclinations or practices under my nose.

Like it or not, Christianity, and its values are decried now adays...... and look at the state of society.

So off you all go, dogging and cottaging and licking your lips over Jordans latest squeeze..... pretending to be yummy*mummys, tossing your couscous and fretting over the wheat you ground to make your bread ......

I've never seen such a bunch of pseudo wannabes as MumsNot

greedychops · 18/01/2011 22:39

Not all Christians spout that crap melty Grin

My issue now is about the pc comment as if none of us actually deep down believe that homosexuality is normal, but we are all pretending that we do to be somehow PC? Wtf? For the record, I genuinely think that homosexuality is as normal as heterosexuality and it sounds like most people on here do too.

No pcness involved.

unhappyshopper · 18/01/2011 22:40

Equality in the workplace. fine

I have absolutely no problems with that, I have worked with gay people many times, and I dont give a toss what they do once they leave work, so long as they do their job competently.

It is the double standards that piss me off.

The gay rights activists demand better or preferential treatment, above and beyond equality.

Its fine for clubs to promote they are gay. Its not fine for clubs to promote they are straight.

Why should that be?

Straight people have to accept it, but gay people demand compensation. And get it.

I have been refused entry to clubs in London because I was with my husband, and we were not "gay".

I didnt run to the courts to sue, I simply went somewhere else.

The couple had deep religious views, that should have been respected and you can bet your last dollar if the hotel owners had been muslims, it would have been a different outcome.

God they're shagging in public now. I am very behind the times with only just having organised breakfast snogging fun. Tell me where I can see these public displays of sodomy? Dh goes swimming at Hampstead men's pond and we both go to the Oasis in Holborn - gay paradises both and nary a cock fired in anger have either one of us seen :(

LDNmummy · 18/01/2011 22:41

Some people see a gay couple doing anything remotely affectionate and blow it up in thier heads into some deviant sexual behaviour.

What are you doing here then, troisgarcons? I think you might be more comfortable on another forum.

narkypuffin · 18/01/2011 22:43

PMSL at 'you can bet your last dollar if the hotel owners had been muslims, it would have been a different outcome.'

Don't get your prejudices in a twist.

BuzzLightBeer · 18/01/2011 22:44

ooh, you got a dig in at muslims too while having your "the gays get it all" rant. Well done there, multi-targeted hate-speak, very nice.

Not quite in the same league as troisgracons though, who doesn't seem to know who it is s/he hates. I think its everyone?

PlanetLizard · 18/01/2011 22:44

There are plenty of gay Christians and gay-friendly Christians. Why shouldn't gay people expect to be treated the same as anyone else?

I agree that if someone doesn't want to open their hotel to gay people then they shouldn't open a hotel.

It's all very well saying they can invite who they like into their home (although I can't imagine Jesus turning them away) but for the part of their property that is a business, normal business rules apply. What if high street stores (for example) started saying "no gay customers"? There would be outrage, of course.

unhappyshopper · 18/01/2011 22:47

Why is it hate speak. Muslims do not allow homosexuality within their religion either.

If they were to refuse two gay men a double room in their B & B, would their views have been taken into consideration.

I think they most likely would.

There have been many similar incidents where the muslim religion has won over the christian one in this country.

I do not hate muslims at all, but I am a christian with christian beliefs, living in a christian country.

I dont hate gay people, I do however think that this couple should be allowed to decide who stays under their roof.

It is a privately run B & B, which clearly states its policy on its website.

If you dont like that, then dont stay there. It really should be that simple.

Melty · 18/01/2011 22:47

"I have been refused entry to clubs in London because I was with my husband, and we were not "gay". "

Are you sure it was because you're not Gay?
Maybe you weren't stylish enough?

mayorquimby · 18/01/2011 22:48

Good decision and I'm glad they got a compensation award.
However I'd agree with posters who say that this law should apply equally to all hotels, including ones like the exclusively gay one linked above.

BecauseImWorthIt · 18/01/2011 22:48

Unless you're a namechanger, troisgarcons, you've only been here for a fortnight.

If you hate us that much, then it really is probably time to move on!

LDNmummy · 18/01/2011 22:48

unhappyshopper I wanna know which gay club turned you away in London as I go to them with my friends and partner and have never been turned away once. Straight people hook up in gay clubs all the time and I'm sure they never get kicked out for being hetero, at least I have never seen it before. They could probably sense that you had some views on homosexuality that they wouldn't want you bringing into the club, besides, if gay people offend you so much, why would you go to a gay club? Seems fishy to me Hmm

troisgarcons · 18/01/2011 22:50

BitOfFun Dont tell me where I may or not post in public

Melty · 18/01/2011 22:51

troisgarcons, I dont think she did, but you dont seem to have a high opinion of mumsnet, so why post here?

BuzzLightBeer · 18/01/2011 22:52

it should really not be that simple. You cannot pick and choose who is good enough to be your clients, and you cannot tell a whole section of the population that they are barred from things simply because they are gay.

You, and people like you, are anachronisms. You have no place in modern society, and thankfully there are fewer and fewer of you all the time. They broke the law, they get in trouble. It really is as simple as that.

If you don't like the laws here, maybe you should not stay here. Is that simple enough for you?

ilovesooty · 18/01/2011 22:53

"

Really? Many similar incidents ?

Pray, do tell.

LadyBiscuit · 18/01/2011 22:54

If unhappyshopper frequents gay clubs, I'm Peter Tatchell

BecauseImWorthIt · 18/01/2011 22:54

unhappyshopper - there is a big difference between religions/religious beliefs and the law of the land.

You may not like something or not believe in it as a Christian, but that is totally irrelevant when it comes to the law.

LadyBiscuit · 18/01/2011 22:55

This thread is excellent for updating the spreadsheet I must say. They're all coming out of the woodwork tonight.

And friedtoacrisp - did it escape your memory that George Michael was prosecuted for cottaging? Guess so
