Kiss my arse.

What a strange thing to be upset about.

FlyingFig · 14/01/2011 19:02

Oh I used cloth but was a Puree Queen.

Can I wave a flag with a pummeled Sweet potato emblazoned on it?

CupcakesHay · 14/01/2011 19:06

Connie - what nappies do you use? Do you have children or are you just getting annoyed other something which you don't even need to worry about?

BertieBotts · 14/01/2011 19:08

You should just do EC from birth like me and stay out of the debate

FluteyBoots · 14/01/2011 19:10

What is EC? More importantly, does it have a brigade?

It's not using any nappies at all. Watching your newborn to see when they are about to wee/poo, and holding them over a pot. And I failed miserably

It does have a brigade but they tend to be quiet and keep to themselves lest they get jumped on. Occasionally a newbie makes the mistake of posting enthusiastically about it on a messageboard and gets flamed, massively, and they slink off back to the private EC discussion groups to cry. Not that I ever did this.

golly, that sounds brave! Your banner is a bit mucky then :)

BertieBotts · 14/01/2011 19:21

Possibly. Depends if you use nappies in between or not. But either way you can always wash your hands. Most people seemed to lie their babies on a towel or an open terry square.

TBH I got covered in pee a lot when DS was newborn anyway - isn't that pretty standard when you have a boy? Little water pistols etc Grin

MsKLo · 14/01/2011 19:22

I quite admire mums who use them I wish i had the tenacity to do so but I am naughty and use mostly disposables but always feel a bit naughty

conniedescending · 14/01/2011 19:22

well I don't believe the environment thing - all that energy used washing the things

and i keep seeing photos on fb of teeny babies with mahoosive bums covered in lurid fleece

there is much to be irritated by

and I think a nappuchino is when you meet another cloth bum freak who flogs you more cloth nappies while you drink coffee

Yabu to loathe someone for their choice of nappy As for trying to guess when your new born is about to pee, I had enough trouble working out when I had to! Hence the puddle on the bathroom floor a week after dd was born!! Blush

conniedescending · 14/01/2011 19:24

and i think MN has always been full of narrowminded schreeching fishwives - moi self excluded

FluteyBoots · 14/01/2011 19:25

Oh yes, my DS was like a hosepipe. Went up the curtains a few times. :o

MsKLo · 14/01/2011 19:26

I find the EC method fascinating but does it really work? Isn't it a case of constantly being near a loo?! Wow, kudos to any mum who has done it and it has worked!

conniedescending · 14/01/2011 19:26

now EC I kinda have a bit of rubber necking fascination for. Wasn't there a TV programme on about it a while back. I remember the giant turd on the rug.

WorzselMummage · 14/01/2011 19:26

There nappycakes too, you know..

or nappy golf club trolly if you fancy it.

stuffthenonsense · 14/01/2011 19:28

Oh my , so what kind of a mummy am I then?
Breast feed my baby (no, no bottles, not even expressed, direct from source)
Baby in terry square nappies with washable wipes and fleece liners
Blw (and loving it)

Truth is, all the above options are actually quicker and cheaper! I never have to shop for nappies
Or faff about with blenders, or sterilizers.

Well I used disposables, bottle fed all my kids, weaned them before 6 months with purees.

What brigade do I belong to?

Giddyup · 14/01/2011 19:31

YANBU, I wish i wasn't so lazy and I would try washable nappies. But i have seen some of the threads where they self righteously slap each other on the back for "doing the best thing they can for baby and the planet" and other such neuseating bollocks.... fluffy post, bah, I raide my fluffy middle finger at the smuggery of it all.

deemented · 14/01/2011 19:33

Fucking hell Hmm

If you loathe the cloth nappy users, you must hate the mooncup/jam sponge brigade, and must really despise the cloth san pro users...

FluteyBoots · 14/01/2011 19:33

Actually Connie, lifecycle analysis shows that cloth nappies are better. If you factor in the manufacture, distribution, and disposal over the period a baby is in nappies, then they win on the environmental front. Especially since lots of cloth nappies can now be washed at low temperatures.

So, that's my choice. Everyone is free to make their own, I would not judge either way.

Is that irritating enough for you?

BTW my DS's bum is compact and smart in his itti bittis, and feels nice as well.

EdgarAleNPie · 14/01/2011 19:34

i use cloth and potty train at the first opportunity after 18 months.
This is financially motivated, sorry QofE, i still don't give a toss about the planet.
I give even less of a crap about being 'child-led' (ie parent led, but more nambypamby)

will be even more smug when the last one is fully PT.

really really hate washing, drying and otherwise fannying around with nappies. 3 years now. non chuffing stop.
