She's half-inched my debit card

My darn baby has rifled through my wallet and stolen my debit card and £25. And my nectar card. May be she's going on a shopping spree in Sainers? It's been 3 days now. I've checked in all the obvious places, plus her toy box and in the DVD player.

Where would a 13-month old hide something? I only live in a small London flat. Seriously, I need suggestions! I am rubbish at looking for things.

Also I had this really uncomfortable lump in my boot this morning and it turned out to be a piece of cheese, FGS.

Is it just me or are babies WEIRD?

She probably binned it lol.

The strangest thing I ever found was my house keys...in my then 2yr old's nappy Shock

Memoo · 12/01/2011 10:57

Do yuo have gaps between your floor boards?

bubbleOseven · 12/01/2011 10:58

oven, washing machine,

TandB · 12/01/2011 10:58

Don't ask me. My oyster card went the same way and I never saw it again. It didn't even turn up when we moved house. He has lost me about £30 of pre-pay over 3 cards. I am thinking of docking his future pocket money.

mutznutz · 12/01/2011 11:01

Kungfu Have you tried holding him to the Oyster machine and listening for a bleep? Grin

onadifferentplanettoday · 12/01/2011 11:03

One New Year when small my ds posted my cheque book cards etc down the back of the fire place, didn't find them for months ,when they were finally discovered and he was asked why he said he thought Santa would be short of money after Christmas !

scrappydappydoo · 12/01/2011 11:03

My two seemed obsessed with posting things down the back of radiators. Checked under sofa cushions? in shoes?

kenobi · 12/01/2011 11:04

Ha ha mutznutz - hope they hadn't been through his/her entire digestive system!

Memoo like your thinking. No gaps in floorboard but large gap under one skirting board. Will investigate tonight.

Kungfu - Love it. Sounds like your DS has a future career as tax specialist (you know, good at hiding things). Mutznuts, lol

washing machine? seriously? cripes, didn't think of there...

onadiffplanet - that's seriously cute.

Inside a ride on toy.

Out the cat flap.

mawbroon · 12/01/2011 11:10

under the curtains
down the bog
in the gap under the fridge
under the mat

could be anywhere.

good luck Smile

GwendolineMaryLacey · 12/01/2011 11:12

DD emptied the contents of my wallet and about a week later when all the cards were cancelled Hmm I found them inside her toy kettle.

Onetoomanycornettos · 12/01/2011 11:13

Mine stole moved my passport just before an important trip, which I had to cancel. She then found it AFTERWARDS with the most fake surprise I have ever seen. I was actually speechless (having looked for it for about three days).

Keys, cards, passport, all have gone into the netherworld of children's boxes, cupoards, even between the pages of books. Happy hunting!

wildstrawberryplace · 12/01/2011 11:13

Posted into DVD/CD slots on PC/laptop/DVD player/stereo?

Stashed away in any bags or lunchbox type things?

LadyBiscuit · 12/01/2011 11:14

Inside a book? Under her mattress?

My DS took my glasses and hid them and they've never turned up, even though we've moved house :(

DooinMeCleanin · 12/01/2011 11:15

Toy oven. This where dd2 stashes things. I found £50 in there once, she had half inched from my coat pockets Shock

Takeresponsibility · 12/01/2011 11:16

Good thing no-one has videos any more, the amount of things the DCs used to hide in there - because when I posted things in the machine "Sumayobros" (Super Mario Brothers) would appear on the TV.

DooinMeCleanin · 12/01/2011 11:19

Dd2 finds that playstations are good for that Takeresponsibility Angry, which reminds me I must order a new disc reader for ours at some point soon. The last one met a stick end with a piece of buttered tortilla bread and two Dr Who dvds Hmm

PorkChopSter · 12/01/2011 11:19

Bags
Ride on
Radiator
Inside the card reader of the ELC cash register Hmm
Under the sofa
In the back of the sofa
DVD player
Floorboards
Cupboard under the stairs
Under any furniture
In the shoe rack
Inbetween books/CDs on shelves
Toy cooker

kenobi · 12/01/2011 11:21

Brilliant suggestions, thank you. This is why you all find stuff and I do not (or KungfuPanda either, clearly Grin)

There's a radiator behind the back of the sofa, that's suspect no. 1 at the moment, followed by all floor-level gaps. Gosh my evening is going to be riveting (and dusty).

Onetoomany - naughty DD! She got what she wanted, didn't she? Grin

I wish I could ask her but she's currently concentrating on repeating BEBA BEBA BEBA at the top of her voice, which is beyond my powers of comprehension!

Takeresponsibility · 12/01/2011 11:23

DMC - Oh no! DS has a playstation I must check it immediately.

Actually he's 25, he probably still posts jammy toast in the wretched thing but thats his gf problem now :)

Takeresponsibility · 12/01/2011 11:25

Kenobi - BEBA BEBA BEBA is a clue - check in all toy ambulances, fire engines and police cars immediately

BooBooGlass · 12/01/2011 11:26

Check inside toys. I once spent the day tearing my flat apart looking for my phone. The cheeky thing had wedged it inside Postmas Pat's van. I was less than impressed Wink

Elemental · 12/01/2011 11:28

DH's DVd drive on his laptop is full of guitar plectrums.

kenobi · 12/01/2011 11:29

Ok.. inside toys < busily takes notes >

Takeresponsibilty - rofl!

OP posts:
Poledra · 12/01/2011 11:31

She's not saying BEBA - she's saying [[http://www.poshvintage.com/search_res.cfm?search_term=biba&logic=and BIBA].

Quite the fashion connoisseur - I hate to think how much she's spent on there (but I hope she's got your size right!). Wink
