LOL

No.1 Screamed so they could hear me in the next town and asked the walls, the floor, the mws and my DH to kill me.

No.2 Had a ball, smiled, drank tea, baby swam out without an ounze of pain.

All birts are different

OP, I dare you to have another one.......

AuntiePickleBottom · 10/01/2011 22:16

Are you a Scientologist....
don't their Women have to be silent during childbirth.

Stase · 10/01/2011 22:18

But why the need to feel all superior because you gave birth quietly? Do you think women scream/shout during labour for attention?

In answer to your question, I found it helped, I can't say how, but I couldn't not shout, albeit in that freakily deep Entonox/Exorcist voice.

Bully for you. I thought I would be a quiet one too, but I defy anyone getting a 4th degree tear not to utter a loud "ouch" or two.

LaWeaselMys · 10/01/2011 22:21

There's probably a point where it's unhelpful because you're panicking and need to concentrate but it's not the screaming that's bad it's the panic.

A while before I got PG with DD my appendix burst, I passed out from the pain, and nearly died from hospital negligence - so having a pain in more or less the same place just as bad, but not able to pass out every three minutes was fucking terrifying.

I need the drugs to calm down and get back in control and then I did some grunty shouting at the end from exertion.

But sure you can judge me. It's only you that'll look like a twat if you do...

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 10/01/2011 22:21

I did screamed through DS2's - it was hell.

I moo-ed (yes like a cow Grin), and shouted (alternated between the too quite well actually) during DS3's.

I was quite quiet but YABVVVU.

onceamai · 10/01/2011 22:23

I swore too and DH apologised to the M/wife so I swore at him.

defineme · 10/01/2011 22:23

xfirsttimemummy the young lad you're calling a twat had clear autism and I found his reaction to the birth/baby very moving an d thought he had a good sense of humour too. I have a less favourable opinion of you.

EdgarAleNPie · 10/01/2011 22:23

swearing loudly can help to bear pain. proved - on Mythbusters.
Scientific fact :)

Having a fantastic sleep during labour pmsl!

ShowOfHands · 10/01/2011 22:24

Oh bravo. Have a hero biscuit you nasty person. You should be really bloody careful about the way you talk about other women at their most vulnerable time.

LadyBiscuit · 10/01/2011 22:25

I didn't swear at all but I had a CS. I was very disappointed not to get the opportunity to get carte blanche to be potty-mouthed tbh
