To never wear a bra?

WimpleOfTheBallet · 08/01/2011 09:05

Apparently women of my age 38....should wear one. This is according to my sister...thing is I have almost nothing to go in one and when I have tried to wear them (properly fitted etc) theyare SO uncomfortable I dispense with it after one wear.

I just wear vests and camisole type things. I don't walk about with dramatically pointy nipples or anything...I make sure I have enough layers on to keep some dignity....but I see no point in a bra when ther's nothing to support!

Isn't that what bra's are for? Support? Or have I misunderstood some unwritten rule of being a woman?

My "boobs" are less than a handful...haven't been measured in ages...they dont sag at all...they just sit there....does EVERYONE on here wear one?

i would LOVE to be able to wear those vest tops with a little inner bit without a bra Sad
no way though, mine are DD or E depending on style of bra and seem to be very soft and wobbly even though the nipples still point up (a bit).

WimpleOfTheBallet · 08/01/2011 22:21

But isn't all this part and parcel of the whole breasts re not purly seual things?

how come it's ok to breast feed in publi but people cannot cope with a nipple outline sans baby?

Gah...spelling gone awful! Bad laptop!

No, breasts are not purely sexual, anymore than minges are. However, you wouldn't go out knowing your minge was on show, so why would you go around displaying your nipples?

(I don't mean you, personally, obviously!)

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 08/01/2011 22:25

YANBU I am not envious however as I have lovely bras they are supportive and keep everything straight and still and I have finally found gorgeous ones at Rigby and Peller that tame my pendular swinging melons.

As with the other ops my husband always like me braless at home especially in a white Lycra vest Hmm However the nipple scobe-ing sensation is like nails on a blackboard - and his constant fiddling and inability to talk to my face does my bloody head in.

Nips should not be clearly defined I agree, and I hate that on a man too, especially in work in a cheap white shirt.yeughh

But if you look decent and are comfortable then good for you.

WimpleOfTheBallet · 08/01/2011 22:27

But your minge is a bit different isn't it Littlefish? I mean..a minge is hairy...and detailed! A nip is a nip is a nip...male or female they're not much different. Ours are attached to a bit more flesh is all.

Not my XPs-his moobs were the same size as mine! Shock

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 08/01/2011 22:31

Yes but when you throw camels toes into the mix.....? I'm not sure I want to see any of them in the work place, and I definitely don't want to see the outline of a male coworkers cockleshell bay area.

Ps had a female coworker with very hairy nipples.

GreenEyesandHam · 08/01/2011 22:32

I always wear a bra, cos my tits hang just a fraction lower than I'd like lol

I remember once doing an all day H&S course at work, the lady taking it spent the whole day stood at the front with ONE, rather prominent (grape-like) erect nipple showing thru her jumper

Jellykat · 08/01/2011 22:32

NB,Not that i have moobs mine begin with a b Grin

WimpleOfTheBallet · 08/01/2011 22:32

Grin Jelly...DH has big boobs too...not flabby but his pecs are big...we always laugh at the size of his ccompared to mine!

OP posts:
Jellykat · 08/01/2011 22:35

Ahhh- pecs are a totally different matter! My XPs were pure wibbly wooblies!

Littlefish · 08/01/2011 22:35

Binfullofmaggots and GreenEyes - that's exactly what I mean! Extremely inappropriate in a professional setting.

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 08/01/2011 22:37

Oh greeneyes, the poor thing, nothing worse than being referred to as the peanut smuggler in the office for the rest of your bloody career, plus if it is just the one, or the placement is odd you just can't stop staring can you?

tyler80 · 08/01/2011 22:37

What do you expect people to do then? Tape them down?

WimpleOfTheBallet · 08/01/2011 22:38

Peanut smuggler! Grin I want a t shirt with that on!

Not really...but kind of!

Littlefish,

Well actually, I have holes in my jeans which...

Never mind.

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 08/01/2011 22:43

Tyler80 my best mate has the most easily excitable nipples and ended up getting a bra with a special insert in the front that stopped them showing through.

Imagine trying to carry out a presentation to a prospective bunch of clients in very male orientated logistic environments and see how confidently you carry yourself when they are growing in front of everyones eyes and actually x100 in side profile in the shadow of a projector beam.

I nearly died for her that day.....Sad

RevoltingPeasant · 08/01/2011 22:45

Binfull - re: hairy nipples -- how did you know?? The mind boggles.

tbh, maybe I am some kind of weirdo, but I just think nipples are the natural shape of a woman's breast and I don't see anything weird about it. I normally have a sturdy bra and blouse on, but I don't wear padding, so if it's cold, yeah, there's a bit of a bump on show. I lecture like this, btw. Honestly don't see a problem and have never had anyone except my weirdo friend comment.

RevoltingPeasant · 08/01/2011 22:46

erm, how did I do that?? sorry. obv was not meant to be all xed out...

nooka · 08/01/2011 22:52

Sorry but I think it is more 'inappropriate' for you to be obsessing about a small bump on someone's chest. If you have small breasts they aren't catching anyone's attention in any case. The lovely comparison between showing your 'minge' and having the outline of your nipple occasionally visible is really odd. In order to show my pubic area in public I'd have to be naked. As I don't go to work top less then I fail to see the comparison. Do those that object to the unbra'd (and in any case wearing a bra is not a particularly failsafe way to hide a pointy nipple) also think that men should wear padding to hide the outline of their genitals? surely that is at least as off putting?

nooka · 08/01/2011 22:54

I think there is a new strike out option - I've seen that happen a few times here in the last day or two.

Oh and I totally agree with you about the natural shape of breasts not being something that has to be hidden away. the only time I have felt self conscious about my nipples came when I was wearing a nursing bra and I leaked through the padding

WimpleOfTheBallet · 08/01/2011 22:59

nooka my minge comparison was for LittleFish ...she started it.

nooka

Once I went back to my office after a lecture and discovered the first three buttons on my blouse were undone.

No idea how long they'd been like that. There had been c. 200 people in the lecture theatre.
